If Dancing With the Stars’ Alix Earle and partner Val Chmerkovskiy‘s most recent behind-the-scenes video is anything to go by, the dance couple are more than squashing rumors that the two supposedly “hate” each other.
In fact, the pairing look more than comfortable ever in their most recent BTS clip, which shows Earle and Chmerkovskiy repeatedly messing up difficult dance moves — living by the adage “if at first you dob’t succeed, try, try again.” And try they do, putting all of their energy and effort into nailing the rolling move that winds up with the partners on the floor. Repeatedly. It’s an intimate move that requires immense trust in each other.

The TikTok influencer’s BTS fails come on the heels of rumors that she and Chmerkovsiy are on the outs. Earle, for her part, not only squashed the gossip — but revealed that the two are actually close friends.

In a September 26 TikTok video, Earle addressed the rumors that she and the dance pro “hate each other.” It couldn’t be farther from the truth.

“It’s so funny because I feel like we are becoming besties,” Earle revealed. “I feel like we both just have sarcastic personalities and I’m like, maybe we need to chill that out because it does I guess look like we hate each other,”
The Judges Weigh in on Earle and Chmerkovskiy’s Performances
For Week 1, which aired on September 16, the pair performed the cha-cha-cha to Britney Spears‘ “Circus,” for which they scored 13 out of 20.
During the second week — the One Hit Wonders theme, Earle and Chmerkovskiy jived to Lou Bega’s classic hit, “Mambo No. 5.” The pair scored a 21 out of 30 possible points.
Out of a total score of 50, Earle and Chmerkovskiy are currently in 4th place with 34/50.
