InterContinental has opened its first hotel in Sapporo, marking the brand’s debut in Hokkaido, Japan.
InterContinental has opened its first hotel in Sapporo, located on Japan’s northernmost island, Hokkaido. The new property, InterContinental Sapporo, occupies the 9th to 14th floors of the Lilac Square complex and offers 149 guestrooms, including 13 suites. The hotel is situated in the Nakajima Park area, near the Susukino entertainment district.
The hotel features views of the city, park, and Toyohira River. The design incorporates elements inspired by the natural landscapes of Hokkaido, with a focus on residential-style luxury. Amenities include a 20-meter indoor heated pool and a 24-hour fitness center, both located on the 9th floor. The Club InterContinental lounge, located on the top floor, offers guests additional services, including private check-in and evening refreshments.
The hotel offers three distinct dining options. Sawaka offers an omakase-style dining experience that focuses on both local and global culinary techniques. AuBlanc offers an all-day dining experience, featuring a breakfast buffet, evening meals, and a bakery. Norva Lounge & Bar offers afternoon teas and cocktails in a setting designed for relaxation.
