Scary season is officially here! It’s the first weekend of October, and if you’re in the mood for a night crawl or two, we’ve got you covered. The temperature will drop and things are bound to get a bit frigid on Saturday night, with overnight lows of -1 and a chance of snow (say it ain’t so!) But if you’re keen to bundle up, we’ve got a list of ten things to do in Calgary that will keep you occupied all weekend long.

From star gazing events to Halloween haunts, here are 10 great things to do in and around Calgary this Oct. 3 to 5 weekend.

The world-renowned acrobatics group perform at the Big Top for their new show, ECHO, with bold visuals, surprising twists, and never-before-seen acrobatic feats.

Everyone’s favourite pumpkin-themed extravaganza is back for another year in Calgary — now this is Halloween!

Granary Road‘s annual Harvest Fair is back for weekends of fall fun until Oct. 12. An all-access admission will let you participate in their popular annual pumpkin hunt and a scenic tractor ride through lush autumn trees. Bring your little ones for pony rides, face-painting and all-you-can-eat contests.

You’re invited to step into the shadows and explore the eerie side of history with Heritage Park. This walking tour, led by experienced guides, will explore the hauntings within the park’s buildings.

Get on the boo crew at Calaway Park! This Halloween-themed event is brimming with actors in costume, meet-and-greets, spooky scenes, and parade floats.

Stroll through the farmyard and hunt for your own perfect pumpkin at Butterfield Acres, an authentic farm experience with adorable animals and plenty of family-friendly activities ideal for fall.

Celebrate diverse cultural lantern festivals around the world. Take part in a paper lantern workshop where you’ll decorate your own to carry with you in the lantern walk.

Immerse yourself with your fellow fans in the enchanting world of Disney with character meet-and-greets, merchandise resellers and craft tables.

Join the Friends of Fish Creek and the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) for their annual Star Night Event. Gaze at the sky through telescopes provided by RASC and get a closer look at the moon and stars.
