Amazon is hiring over 1,000 seasonal workers in Vancouver and raising the base pay across Canada

2 October 20253 Mins Read

Great news, job seekers. Amazon has plans to hire over 7,000 seasonal employees this holiday season, and over 1,000 of them will be based in Greater Vancouver.

What’s more, its plans include a significant raise in both hourly wages and annual base pay across the country.

Seasonal roles will begin to be filled in October and continue through December, with positions located at Amazon’s fulfillment centres, sortation centres, and delivery stations from coast to coast. According to the company, these roles range from stowing, picking, packing, and sorting to shipping customer orders.

So no matter which part of their operations you have experience or may be interested in, there’s likely something there for you.

“At Amazon, we’re committed to creating a workplace where employees feel valued and have opportunities to grow,” says Chuck Cummings, director of customer fulfillment at Amazon Canada. “By creating thousands of new seasonal roles and investing in compensation and workplace benefits, we’re providing meaningful employment opportunities that can lead to long-term careers at Amazon. We’re proud to offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits from day one, and a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.”

Base pay increases across Canada

As part of its ramp-up for the holidays, Amazon has also announced a 4.3 per cent increase over 2024 wages, which means the average hourly wage for eligible employees will be bumped up to $24.50 per hour.

Frontline Amazon employees working full-time will soon earn a minimum annual salary of $50,960, which is based on a 40-hour work week over 52 weeks.

Planned raises every six months

Moving forward, eligible hourly full and part-time employees can count on planned pay increases every six months until their 24-month anniversary. After this milestone, they’ll receive another increase at month 36, creating a much clearer path for earnings growth based on tenure.

All raises come from an investment of over $110 million towards pay increases for eligible customer fulfillment and transportation employees in 2025 alone. According to Amazon, the hourly base wage increase went into effect on Sept. 28, 2025, across Canada.

Finally, Amazon will add to its leading workplace benefits package by introducing the Employee Prime Benefit, which makes Prime Membership free for all eligible frontline employees after 90 days of employment.

This benefit will kick in by the end of 2025.

When and where to apply

Ready to check out what’s available? Open season roles are posted online throughout the holiday season and tend to fill up quickly, so make sure you’re checking its website frequently throughout October, November, and December for updates.

Good luck, job seekers, and stay tuned for more job opportunities to come.
