Stephen King's 'It' Receives Terrifying Board Game Adaptation Ahead of New HBO Series

7 October 20252 Mins Read

As though it weren’t horrifying enough that Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise the Dancing Clown is soon going to make the leap from film to television, an It-themed spin has officially arrived to stores and online retailers across the nation.

A chilling new addition to the popular Betrayal at House on the Hill board game, Betrayal at the Neibolt House: The Evil of Pennywise allows players to come face to face with the shapeshifting creature of Stephen King’s iconic horror novel and its subsequent movie adaptations.

“This expansion brings twice the terror: the nightmarish horror of It: Chapter Two meets the classic haunting fun of Betrayal at House on the Hill 3rd Edition,” the game’s official press release read.

The specifically features an entire rule book dedicated to Betrayal at the Neibolt House’s terrifying storyline. In it, players controls characters who have survived Pennywise’s previous feeding frenzy, only to once again confront the creature 27 years after its last reign of terror.

Accompanying the rulebook, the game also features various cards for both players and the enemy characters (Pennywise), as well as spine-chilling miniatures based on sociopathic bully Henry Bowers and some of It’s most disturbing forms.

“Play as a resident of Derry and experience one of five unique haunts,” the press release continued. “When the haunt begins, you may find yourself embodying the terror of It or the deranged malice of Henry Bowers – or maybe you’ll have to work together and defeat Pennywise. Pay a visit to Derry – we all float down here.”

To experience this exciting new horror game for yourself, you’ll need anywhere from three to six players, along with the base Betrayal at House on the Hill board game. Due to its mature story and highly disquieting subjects, the game is not recommended for players under 17 years of age.

Betrayal at the Neibolt House: The Evil of Pennywise arrives less than one month before HBO’s upcoming prequel series, It: Welcome to Derry.

Set in the 1960s, the show will feature a returning Bill Skarsgård as the demonic killer clown, as well as an in-depth study of Pennywise’s enigmatic origins within the New England town of Derry.
