9 October 20254 Mins Read

With Halloween just around the corner, we thought we’d go ahead and share some of the spookiest, most exciting events we’ve found around the city, from costume parties to nights out on the town, to a couple of free festivals with fireworks. Here are 10 ways to celebrate Halloween in Vancouver this year.

Whether you’re looking for adult pumpkin carving and painting or a family-friendly trick-or-treat activity, the City of Richmond has you covered. On Halloween night, you can check out its beloved annual Fireworks Festival, a free celebration featuring live acrobats, jugglers, ghost hunters, and the “ShowStoppers” ensemble, spooky roaming actors, a live pumpkin carver, carnival-style games, festive bites, and an inflatable fun house maze. Oh, and a dazzling fireworks finale at 9 p.m.

When: Friday, Oct. 31, 2025
Time: 6:30 to 9:15 p.m.
Where: 7191 Granville Ave., Richmond
Cost: Free

If you love getting creative with Halloween costumes every year, get ready to roll up your sleeves. East Vancouver’s annual Parade of Lost Souls returns this year, and it’s bringing a spooky blend of art, music, and dance with it.

This year, the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret Society is organizing several free-to-access workshops prior to the main parade, including a costume party and happy hour, a time warp dance challenge, and a parade for children.

When: Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025
Time: 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Parade starts at Trout Lake
Cost: Free

Join us for a spooky celebration at Central Park! Everyone is invited to free family-friendly Halloween festivities. The fun kicks off at 6 p.m.

Enjoy a lively dance party with a DJ, delicious bites from food trucks, spooky entertainment, photo ops, a dazzling drone light display, and a spectacular fireworks show.

Costumes are highly encouraged!

When: Friday, Oct. 31, 2025
Time: 6 to 8 p.m.
