Frontmezzjunkies reports: Schmigadoon! The Musical is Coming to Broadway
With something a little meta and marvelous over that foggy bridge, Schmigadoon! The Musical, based on the clever and tuneful Apple TV+ series that lovingly parodies Golden Age musicals, is officially heading to Broadway’s Nederlander Theatre. After a warmly received run at The Kennedy Center, the production will begin previews on April 4, 2026, ahead of an April 20 opening night. The limited engagement is scheduled to run through September 6.
As someone who happily fell under the show’s tongue-in-cheek spell on television, I’m curious to see how its mix of sharp satire and sincerity translates from screen to stage. The series always struck a delicious balance between homage and critique, and Broadway — the very home of the shows it was riffing on — feels like the perfect, and perhaps most daring, next stop.
Casting and additional creative details are still under wraps, but if the show retains the charm, wit, and heart that made the series sing, we could be in for something both nostalgic and new.
