When it comes time for the winter holidays, I basically want to blanket my home in all things festive. If I could live in a Hallmark movie town, I totally would. It’s a chance to escape the every day and fully immerse yourself in celebratory happiness. Whatever pressures of the world can wait, because Christmas comes but once a year. And considering the lengths I go to decorate my home, that’s probably a good thing.
From holiday dinnerware to garland everywhere, once the Thanksgiving meal has been cleared, it’s absolutely on. To get ready for my annual holiday craze, I’ve been perusing some cute stuff to add to my collection across all the major retailers and that’s when I stumbled upon a must-have from Kohl’s. Spoiler alert: it’s a teapot, it’s a gingerbread person, it’s coming home with me.

Kohl’s is selling a Certified International Christmas Whimsy Gingerbread 3-D Teapot and it’s absolutely adorable. Regularly priced at $57.99, it’s currently on sale for $46.39, so now is a good time to pick one up if you want to add some sweetness to your tea time this holiday season.

The teapot has a liquid capacity of 24 ounces, so with the standard cup of tea being 6 ounces, you can serve four people at one time. Keep in mind that the pot is ceramic, so you’ll want to hand wash this guy to make sure it stays in tip top shape for many years to come.
Kohl’s has other varieties of holiday-themed teapots including a nutcracker, snowman, penguin and gingerbread house. So if the gingerbread man isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other festive characters to choose from.
The brand, Certified International, also makes matching gingerbread man cookie jars, platters, mugs, canape plates and dessert plates. So you can really outfit an entire cabinet with decorative goodness this season.

To make your holiday tea absolute perfection, keep in mind that temperature definitely matters when it comes to brewing a good cup. Different types of tea need different water temps to bring out their best flavor without turning bitter or flat. Here’s the quick rundown:
- Green tea: Go gentle—around 160–180°F (70–80°C). Boiling water scorches the leaves and makes it taste harsh or grassy.
- White tea: Similar to green, but a bit warmer—175–185°F (80–85°C). This is because the leaves are slightly hardier.
- Oolong tea: Middle ground—185–205°F (85–96°C). It’s partially oxidized, so it can handle more heat without losing its complexity.
- Black tea: Full boil—about 212°F (100°C). It needs that heat to unlock the bold, robust flavor.
- Herbal tea: Same as black—212°F (100°C). The herbs aren’t delicate like tea leaves so they can handle the heat.
If you don’t have a thermometer, no worries—just let boiled water sit for a minute or two before pouring it over green or white tea. A little patience goes a long way toward a smoother, more flavorful cup.
