The series co-creator has revealed the “actual” length of each episode
The fifth and final season of Stranger Things will begin its rollout this November, the first of three volumes in a multipart release schedule. Teased by the show’s cast and creators as the most action-packed season yet, co-creator Ross Duffer has now offered fans even more insight in a new Instagram post.
The team behind the show hasn’t just praised the high-stakes action of the new season, but their intent behind it being a proper send off for the series that finally gives fans answers to their many burning questions. Set over a year after the events of the previous season, the show’s heroes will have to contend with a Hawkins under military lockdown, Vecna, and the ever-growing threat of the Upside Down.
Duffer’s Instagram post showed the first four episodes of season 5, with the caption “ACTUAL runtimes” and the peace sign emoji. The lengths of the episodes are as follows:
- Chapter One: The Crawl — 1 hour and 8 minutes
- Chapter Two: The Vanishing Of… — 54 minutes
- Chapter Three: The Turnbow Trap — 1 hour and 6 minutes
- Chapter Four: Sorcerer — 1 hour and 23 minutes
These first four episodes of Stranger Things season 5 arrive on Netflix at 5 p.m. PT on Nov. 26. The length of the other four episodes — three of which release on Christmas, while the finale drops on New Year’s Eve — still remains unknown. With such a long runtime for each episode, fans can truly expect this final season of Stranger Things to deliver on all its promises.
