Metro Vancouver is getting a haunted village inspired by spooky legends from across the globe

14 October 20252 Mins Read

If you’re looking for a spooky season favourite for the whole family to enjoy, look no further than Burnaby Village Museum. What started as a single street and manor house in 1971 has become 10 acres of open-air history, offering visitors from all over the chance to see first-hand what life in B.C. looked like around the turn of the 20th century.

Every year, the beloved museum transforms for spooky season, and 2025 is no exception!

Its signature Haunted Village experience runs for five days this October and brings terrifying legends from across the globe to life. Visitors can expect to roam Count Dracula’s Castle, meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Momotaro the Japanese Peach Boy, and much more.

You’ll also get to savour tasty Halloween-themed treats and warm sips at Mai’s Cafe.

About the museum

Built in 1971 in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of B.C. joining Canada, Burnaby Village Museum originally spread 4.3 acres, intending to depict how a small pioneer village once operated.

After its initial construction, the museum continued to add new exhibits and buildings, growing nearly double its size by the end of the 1980s.

Admission and info

Admission to the spooky festivities is priced at $10 per person and $5 for children aged two to 12. Children younger than two get in for free.

Burnaby Village Museum’s Haunted Village returns from Wednesday, Oct. 22 to Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025. Once the haunted attraction ends, free admission will return to the museum.

Note that the Carousel will not be in operation during Haunted Village.

When: Wednesday, Oct. 22 to Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025
Time: 4 to 9 p.m.
Where: 6501 Deer Lake Ave., Burnaby
Cost: $10 per person, $5 for children aged two to 12
