It is nice to know that Pope Leo is on our side.
The Supreme Pontiff is yet to sign up as a subscriber at BIG Media, but last week he was doing some excellent marketing work on our behalf.
“Communication must be freed from the misguided thinking that corrupts it, from unfair competition, and the degrading practice of so-called clickbait,” the Vicar of the Vatican said to an audience of about 150 global newswire representatives.
He cited “transparency of sources of ownership, accountability, quality, and objectivity” as crucial elements of good journalism.
Amen, Holy Father!
Now, to those of you who have been guilty of engaging in self-indulgent clickbation – you need not fear eternal damnation in an uncomfortably hot place.
We understand that horrifying headlines, licentious leads, and inquitious quotations are sinfully seductive. However, too much clickbation can cause you to go blind.
You must resist the urge to clickbait in shameful satiation, and instead choose to be the master of our domain! Wash your hands of such immoral behaviour and accept BIG Media Ltd as your journalistic saviour.
We never tempt you to commit clickbation. Our content is journalistically pure (no sensationalism and fully transparent) and utterly satisfying. You may even experience multiples, as you can reach a metaphysical peak several times in one session.
Thank you, Pope Leo, for helping steer your flock away from the cliff and toward the journalistic promised land.
