Here’s where you can preorder the new M5 MacBook Pro and iPad Pro

15 October 20253 Mins Read

Apple recently announced revised 14-inch MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models, each equipped with the new M5 processor. As expected, Apple’s new M5 chip is supposedly faster than the M4, with better performance for graphically demanding applications. Apple also says the M5 is significantly better at handling AI-based tasks because its 10-core GPU has a neural accelerator embedded in each core.

In terms of pricing, the new 14-inch laptop starts at $1,599, while the base 11-inch and 13-inch tablets start at $999 and $1,299, respectively. All three devices are slated to launch on Wednesday, October 22nd, but you can preorder them starting today from both Apple and Amazon. Aside from the new chip, the late-2025 MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models each have their own set of upgrades, which we’ll explore in more detail below.

Where to preorder the M5 MacBook Pro

Most of the M5 MacBook Pro’s design is unchanged from last year’s model. It still starts with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and has the same display resolution, ports, battery, webcam, networking specs, and speakers. However, its memory bandwidth has been increased to 153Gbps compared to the M4’s 120Gbps, and Apple says the 10-core M5’s multithreaded performance is 20 percent faster than the M4. The laptop’s 10-core GPU is also said to be 1.6 times faster — which should result in decent frame rate boosts in some games — while the aforementioned neural accelerators make the M5 Pro 3.5 times faster at certain AI-related tasks.

Starting today, you can preorder the M5 MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage from Amazon and Apple starting at $1,599. The model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage is also available at Amazon and the Apple Store starting at $1,799, while the step-up configuration with 24GB of RAM and 1TB SSD is available for $1,999 from Amazon and Apple. Both retailers also allow you to add a glare-resistant Nano-texture display to all configurations for an additional $150.

Where to preorder the M5 iPad Pro

The M5 in the iPad Pro offers similar benefits to those found in the MacBook Pro; however, Apple boosted the amount of RAM in the 256GB and 512GB models from 8GB to 12GB. The 1TB and 2TB models retain 16GB of RAM, and the higher-end models also come with a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, which is one more core than the lower storage models. They also feature Apple’s N1 chip and a C1X cellular modem, along with support for faster charging speeds, which let you reach 50 percent capacity in 30 minutes if you have a 40W power adapter or higher.

These are all welcome changes, considering Apple significantly redesigned the iPad last year. The tablet’s OLED display, four-speaker system, 12MP front and rear cameras, and battery that lasts up to 10 hours are all still respectable over a year later.

Right now, you can preorder the 11-inch iPad Pro with 256GB of storage and Wi-Fi from Amazon and Apple for $999, or with 512GB of storage at Amazon and Apple starting at $1,199. As for the 13-inch model, you can currently preorder it from Amazon and Apple with 256GB of storage and Wi-Fi for $1,299. The highest-end storage configurations of the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro will set you back $1,999 and $2,299, respectively, and you can get a nano-texture display at Amazon or from Apple for an additional $100. The cellular version of every M5 iPad Pro is $200 more expensive.
