The high-body-count Western Gunslingers saddles up on Netflix in the United States on November 1st, bringing a trio of familiar faces to the frontier in Nicolas Cage, Stephen Dorff, and Heather Graham. Directed by Brian Skiba, the film blends revenge, family feud, and small-town chaos, all set off when America’s most wanted man shows up in a Kentucky backwater, and a bounty-hungry mob is not far behind.
Originally released in theaters and on digital in April 2025, Gunslingers runs a brisk 104 minutes and leans into old-school shootouts, smoky saloons, and terse standoffs.
It must be said that reviews for this film are pretty poor across the board. It has an incredible 22/100 on Metacritic, with Collider calling it “forgettable VOD junk” and Roger Ebert claiming it is exclusively for “Cage’s most diehard cultists.” IMDb scores aren’t much better, with it currently sitting at 3.6 ahead of its Netflix debut.
The streamer is set to add the film for a limited period beginning November 1st, 2025, and only in the United States.
The full cast for the movie includes:
- Nicolas Cage (Face/Off, Pig)
- Stephen Dorff (True Detective, Blade)
- Heather Graham (Boogie Nights, The Hangover)
- Tzi Ma (The Farewell, Rush Hour)
- Costas Mandylor (Saw series, Picket Fences)
- Johnathon Schaech (That Thing You Do!, Prom Night)
- Wade Williams (Prison Break, The Dark Knight)
- Jeremy Luke (Jersey Boys, Mob City)
This is one of two Lionsgate streaming premieres we’ve learned will be heading to Netflix US in November, with the other being the John Wick documentary, Wick is Pain, also arriving on November 1st.
Why these two movies have bucked the trend of the main first-window deal, which sees movies head to Starz before arriving on Prime Video, is unclear. We also saw something similar earlier this year with Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, which arrived on Netflix soon after its theatrical premiere. Netflix has previously declined to comment.
Of course, that’s in addition to the myriad of licensing deals Netflix has struck with Lionsgate Television shows, such as The Hunting Wives, Minx, and Hightown, among others.
