Halloween Rainy Day Activities | Vancouver’s Best Places Canada Reviews

6 November 20255 Mins Read

Don’t worry if it’s rainy around Halloween. There are great indoor things to do in Metro Vancouver during the spooky season, both for kids and adults.

Below is a description of some of the best ways to celebrate Halloween indoors.

Below is a list of Halloween-ish activities that were indoors, or at least mostly indoors. Also, be sure to check out Vancouver’s October Events Calendar or Vancouver’s Best Rainy-Day Activities for the best indoor things to do in general. For nightclub activities, see our article about Halloween Activities for Adults. For a list of both indoor and outdoor Halloween activities, click Vancouver Halloween Events.

Vancouver Rainy-Day Halloween Activities

Great rainy-day Halloween-themed things to do in the City of Vancouver include the following.

  • Nightmare Before Christmas Market – an indoor Halloween-themed artisan market at the Maritime Labour Centre in Vancouver that ran on October 11th and 12th.
  • FlyOver at Canada Place – the multi-dimensional theatre had a Halloween theme in the late afternoons and evenings. In 2025 the HowlOver Canada film ran from October 9th until the 31st.
  • Fright Nights – the haunted houses and rides were back at the PNE in 2025! That means that there were both indoor and outdoor things to do at the popular Halloween attraction. You might have still gotten wet as you went from one house to the other, but just think – the line ups wouldn’t be as long as if the weather was good!
  • Vancouver Horror Show – the horror movie film festival had shows at Cineplex International Village in Vancouver from October 15th to 19th.
  • Silent Movie Mondays – Vancouver Civic Theatres hosts a classic movie night at the Orpheum about once a month. In 2025, on Monday, October 27th, the film was Phantom of the Opera.
  • Vancouver Mysteries – the company hosts different indoor murder mystery games at a downtown Vancouver hotel, including The Case of the Hotel Detective and The Legend of the Gastown Gold.
  • Halloween at the Roundhouse – there were pumpkin-carving activities, a haunted attraction and a magic show at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown on October 29th, October 31st and November 1st.

In addition to the above, there are the following Latin-themed events around Halloween.

Langley Indoor Venues

  • DreadWorlds Realm of Horror – new for 2025, DreadWorlds took place between October 3rd and November 1st at 3987 232nd Street. It’s an immersive haunted house designed by film professionals. Some areas of the attraction were outdoors while others were indoors. (CANCELLED)
  • Brinkworth Dungeon – located at 22260 48th Avenue, this was an impressive indoor haunted house. Inside you could expect to see a variety of wax museum-quality scenes including a number of them from famous horror movies. There was a lot to see outside, but the house itself was all indoors. (NOTE: This attraction didn’t open until October 31st at the earliest, but possibly later. It planned to run, however, until mid-November.)

North Vancouver Indoor Attractions

  • Wickedly Wonderful at Capilano Mall – operated at 935 Marine Drive. It followed a Yellow Brick Road theme through the mall for an afternoon of Trick-or-Treating.
  • Dovercourt Crypt – was at 3637 Maginnis Avenue. They offered tents and umbrella stations to help avoid the rain, but lines and waiting areas were outside, so the event was not fully indoors.

Indoor Squamish Region Activities

  • Dia de los Muertos at Britannia Mine – in 2025 the museum celebrated Mexican culture with their Day of the Dead event on Saturdays and Sundays between October 18th and November 2nd. The museum isn’t all indoors, but much of it is, and the Dia de los Muertos activities were all inside.

Dry Surrey Places

  • Cougar Creek’s House of Horrors – a few of the Lower Mainland’s best and scariest haunted attractions were at 12530-72nd Avenue in Surrey. Formerly known as Potter’s House of Horrors, the lineup area was under cover and the houses were indoors. The place was open on select dates between October 3rd and November 8th this year.

Other Halloween and Fall Activities

In addition to the above, other recreation and community centres put on special Halloween swimming and skating events over the weekend before Halloween, and many shopping malls and districts offered fun trick-or-treating opportunities to dress up at too. An example of this was the Wickedly Wonderful event at Capilano Mall. Check the websites of centres near you.

There were many more great haunted houses scattered throughout the region as well. Check out our full list of Lower Mainland Haunted Houses for more information.

For a list of other things to do at Halloween with children, including outdoor trains and haunted museums, see Vancouver Children’s Halloween Activities.
