Christian Zandonella has been appointed as the general manager of Danieli, A Four Seasons Hotel, Venice, which is set to reopen in mid-2026 following extensive renovations.
Christian Zandonella has been named the general manager of Danieli, A Four Seasons Hotel, Venice. The hotel is scheduled to reopen in mid-2026 after undergoing significant renovations. Located on the Riva degli Schiavoni, near Piazza San Marco, the Danieli comprises three interconnected palaces, including the 15th-century Palazzo Dandolo.
The renovation project is being led by interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who aims to integrate Venetian craftsmanship with modern design elements. By 2027, the hotel will feature 176 rooms. The renovation will include reimagined accommodations and a focus on providing experiences that highlight Venetian culture.
Zandonella, who took the position in January 2025, will oversee the hotel’s transformation. His career in the hospitality industry spans over two decades, with roles across Austria, Bahrain, Canada, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
The renovation of Danieli, A Four Seasons Hotel, Venice, is part of a broader strategy to enhance the guest experience by offering unique cultural interactions and collaborations with local artisans. The hotel aims to provide guests with opportunities to explore Venice through curated experiences, such as visits to private palazzos and trips across the lagoon on vintage vessels.
