Hilton has opened the first Spark by Hilton hotel in the Caribbean and Latin America, located in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Hilton has announced the opening of the Spark by Hilton Ponce, marking the brand’s debut in the Caribbean and Latin America. The hotel, owned by Ponce Resorts Inc. and managed by HI Development P.R. Corp, is part of Hilton’s expansion strategy in the region. The 120-room property is situated in Puerto Rico’s second-largest city, Ponce, and is three miles from Mercedita International Airport and near Highway 52.
The Spark by Hilton Ponce features modern Spanish architecture. It includes amenities such as a complimentary hot breakfast, free parking, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center, and over 1,600 square feet of event space.
The new hotel in Ponce is strategically positioned to serve as a base for guests exploring the city or seeking a retreat before continuing their travels. Its proximity to cultural attractions, historic downtown Ponce, and shopping malls enhances its appeal to both leisure and business travelers.
The opening of Spark by Hilton Ponce is part of Hilton’s broader strategy to increase its presence in Puerto Rico. The company currently operates more than 10 hotels on the island and plans to double its presence there within the next four years. This expansion is part of Hilton’s ongoing efforts to grow its portfolio in the Caribbean, where it currently operates approximately 50 hotels and has 40 additional properties in development.
Spark by Hilton, a conversion-only brand, has been expanding rapidly since its launch, with over 200 hotels currently open and more than 190 in the global pipeline. The brand is designed to appeal to both developers and guests by offering flexible development options and guest-centric amenities at budget-friendly rates.
