Bunkhouse Hotels Opens Hotel Daphne in Houston

Hotel Daphne, a 49-room boutique hotel by Bunkhouse Hotels, has opened in the Houston Heights neighborhood.

Hotel Daphne, a new boutique hotel from Bunkhouse Hotels, has opened in the Houston Heights. The property features 49 rooms and includes an all-day restaurant and bar. The hotel is situated at 347 West 20th Street, Houston, TX 77008.

The hotel structure, a five-story brick building, was designed in collaboration with Blanchard A+D, with landscape architecture by McDugald Steele. The design incorporates elements reflective of the Heights’ architectural style, including stepped parapets and steel sash windows. The landscape design integrates large heritage oak trees to complement the surrounding area.

The hotel’s restaurant, Hypsi, is led by Chef Terrence Gallivan. It offers Italian-style aperitivo with Gulf Coast ingredients, featuring a menu of handmade pastas and shareable plates. Hypsi is open for breakfast and dinner, with plans to introduce lunch service in January.

Hotel Daphne’s public spaces include a library and a courtyard. The interiors, designed by Bunkhouse Hotels, draw inspiration from the Heights’ history as a planned community and Greek mythology. The hotel also offers a retail shop and a selection of art from the Ackerley family’s collection.

Each guest room is equipped with custom beds, mohair seating, and Arts and Crafts-style furniture. Some rooms have private terraces. The hotel provides dog-friendly accommodations, room service, and concierge services.

The opening of Hotel Daphne follows the recent launch of Hotel Saint Augustine in Houston’s Montrose neighborhood. Bunkhouse Hotels operates several properties across Texas, with Hotel Daphne marking its latest expansion in the region. Room rates start at $359 per night.
