Hilton and Higuerón Developments have signed an agreement to open Waldorf Astoria Marbella in 2029, featuring 120 guest rooms and 120 branded residences.
Hilton, in partnership with Higuerón Developments, has announced the signing of Waldorf Astoria Marbella, a new resort set to open in 2029 in Spain’s Malaga Province. The development will introduce the Waldorf Astoria brand to the region, offering 120 guest rooms and suites, as well as 120 branded residences.
The resort will be located in the coastal city of Marbella, providing views of the Mediterranean Sea. The property’s design is being developed by three Pritzker Prize-winning architects, who are currently participating in a conceptual design competition. The project aims to blend residential comfort with the brand’s established service standards.
Waldorf Astoria Marbella will feature a range of amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools, two restaurants, a lobby bar, a pool bar, and a spa with four treatment rooms. Additional facilities will include a fitness center, meeting spaces, and access to a championship golf course. The golf course, originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1994, will undergo a redesign by Robert Trent Jones Jr. to incorporate contemporary and sustainable elements.
The resort will also feature a grand ballroom, a multi-function space, two connected meeting rooms, and an executive boardroom to accommodate events and celebrations. Dining options will include the brand’s signature Peacock Alley, a lobby bar, a restaurant, and a pool bar and grill.
The private residences at Waldorf Astoria Marbella will offer enhanced privacy and access to exclusive services and amenities, including an owner’s lounge, fitness center, and private dining room. Both hotel guests and residential owners will have access to the golf course.
This development is part of Hilton’s strategy to expand its luxury portfolio globally. The Waldorf Astoria brand currently includes over 65 hotels worldwide, with recent openings and upcoming projects in locations such as New York, Helsinki, Shanghai, Rabat Salé, and London.
The signing ceremony for the Waldorf Astoria Marbella took place in New York on November 5, attended by representatives from Hilton and Higuerón Developments.
