While January 2026 might be headlined by the return of Bridgerton, the new year brings a very exciting slate of new series. Let’s take a look at what’s coming our way!
Netflix’s British division had a massive 2025; look no further than Adolescence, which became an international phenomenon. Looking to January 2026, Netflix will debut a few big British series, including yet another Harlan Coben adaptation, as well as the much-anticipated return of Bridgerton.
In this list, we cover the eight most exciting series hitting the streamer in January 2026. The first eight are new Netflix Originals, and the remaining two are licensed titles that are heading to the United States specifically.
Free Bert
Coming to Netflix: January 2026 (Release date TBD)
Bert Kreischer’s scripted comedy series Free Bert is coming to Netflix in January 2026. Kreischer writes the 6-episode series alongside Jarrad Paul and Andy Mogel. In the series, Kreischer plays a scripted version of himself. This format had similar success in 2025, where Leanne Morgan played a fictional version of herself in Leanne.
The official longline for Free Bert reads: “Bert Kreischer — shirtless comedian, party legend, perpetual wildcard — finds himself in uncharted territory when his daughters are accepted to an elite Beverly Hills private school. When his unbridled antics turn his family into outcasts, he decides to ‘put on a shirt’ and stifle his true nature to better fit in.”
Besides Kreischer, the series also stars Arden Myrin, Ava Ryan, and Lilou Lang.
Run Away
Coming to Netflix: January 1st
When Netflix began adapting the works of best-selling author Harlan Coben with Safe (2018), nobody could have imagined that the streamer would go on to debut nine adaptations with the release of Run Away in January 2026, bringing the total to 10 Harlan Coben series.
In Run Away, we follow Simon (James Nesbitt), a father whose life is turned upside down when his daughter Paige (Ellie de Lange) runs away to join a dangerous cult. As he delves into the underworld to save her, he becomes entangled in a web of secrets and conspiracy, facing hired killers and danger at every turn.
Land of Sin
Coming to Netflix: January 2nd
Netflix has produced a number of excellent Swedish series over the years. Some standout entries include The Åre Murders and The Breakthrough. Next up is 5-episode limited series Land of Sin. Dark and gritty, the series takes place when a teenager goes missing, and a detective with a personal connection to the case investigates, only to be pushed and swayed by loyalties and old family feuds.
Land of Sin is headlined by Krista Kosonen (The Midwife, Miami). It also stars Mohammed Nour Oklah and Peter Gantman.
HIS & HERS
Coming to Netflix: January 8th
Based on the novel by Alice Feeney, His & Hers is a mystery thriller. Headlined by superstars Tessa Thompson (Anna) and Jon Bernthal (Detective Jack Harper), the series follows the duo as husband and wife. One is a cop the other a news reporter. When their attention turns to a murder case, they each believes that the other is the main suspect.
Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials
Coming to Netflix: January 15th
Agatha Christie needs no introduction. After publishing over 60 detective novels in her life, including such legendary works as And Then There Were None and Murder on the Orient Express, she’s known as the Queen of Crime. Many of her most popular stories have already been adapted into coveted movies and series.
Her novel The Seven Dials Mystery hasn’t had such illustrious adaptations as others. There was a 1981 film, but it wasn’t too big. However, Netflix’s adaptation from Chris Chibnall (Doctor Who) will finally give the story the on-screen treatment it has always deserved.
Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials stars Mia McKenna-Bruce (Persuasion), Helena Bonham Carter (One Life), Martin Freeman (The Responder), and Corey Mylchreest (Queen Charlotte).
Love Through a Prism
Coming to Netflix: January 15th
From esteemed Boys Over Flowers creator Yoko Kamio, Love Through a Prism is a coming-of-age anime set in 1900s London. At its heart, the series is a romance following Japanese art student Lili Ichijoin and aristocratic painter Kit Church. Despite their different backgrounds and culture clashes, they connect at an art academy, and their relationship blossoms into something special.
Kill Bill: Volume 1 director Kazuto Nakazawa is also attached to the series.
Finding Her Edge
Coming to Netflix: January 22nd

Teen series Finding Her Edge debuts on Netflix on January 22; it was initially intended for distribution in Canada alongside the Family Channel.
Based on the novel by Jennifer Iacopelli (Break the Fall, Game Set, Match), Finding Her Edge is a story inspired by Jane Austen’s seminal novel Persuasion. The series is helmed by Geek Girl executive producer Jeff Norton and stars Madelyn Keys (A Mother’s Life), Harmon Walsh (Gossip Girl), and Alexandra Beaton (Overcompensating).
Check out the official synopsis: The series follows the three Russo sisters, heirs to a struggling figure skating dynasty. As middle sister, seventeen-year-old Adriana trains for the World Championships with new partner Brayden, while still harbouring feelings for her first love and former partner, Freddie. Her life becomes complicated when she and Brayden pretend to be a couple off the ice so they can land a sponsorship to keep the financially struggling Russo rink afloat.”
Bridgerton: Season 4 Part 1
Coming to Netflix: January 29

Of all the new series coming to Netflix in January, Bridgerton is right up there with the most anticipated. Bridgerton is right near the summit of Netflix’s biggest shows. With plenty of books from Julia Quinn to draw from, there’s enough material to keep the show on our screens for many years to come.
Season 4 covers the love story of Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and the mysterious Lady in Silver, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). After running into each other at a masquerade ball, the two pursue an unlikely romance. She is a maid with a formidable stepmother. He is a Bridgerton. Their story is loosely inspired by the classic Cinderella narrative.
After debuting in January 29, the season will air Part 2 on February 26, 2026.
Licensed Series Coming to Netflix in January 2026
The Following: Seasons 1-3
One of the biggest licensed series coming to Netflix in the new year is The Following. First debuting in 2013, the series went on to air 45 episodes across 3 seasons. It follows FBI agent Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon), returns to duty after notorious serial killer Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) escapes death row. As he digs deeper into the case, he learns of Carroll’s dangerous following.
Prodigal Son (Seasons 1-2)
Headlined by Tom Payne (The Walking Dead), darkly comedic crime drama Prodigal Son follows Malcolm Bright, a former FBI profiler and the son of a serial killer. Given his upbringing, he fears that he may himself become a serial killer, but instead, he solves crimes for the NYPD.
The series was ultimately canceled after two seasons, but don’t be fooled. It’s so good. And at 33 episodes, there’s still a lot of content to enjoy!
