2020’s Raat Akeli Hai is one of Netflix India’s best Original films. The mystery about a murdered rich man and his suspicious family is riveting from the first minute. Acclaimed actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays Investigator Jatil Yadav, a flawed character who learns important lessons from interacting with the troubled family. The role won Siddiqui a 2020 Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actor, and the movie won Best Web Original Film.
Inspector Yadav returns in the sequel Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders. This time, multiple members of a prominent family are murdered. As before, there are plenty of suspects among the close relatives, all of whom are eager to pin the blame on someone else. The thriller held a special screening at the International Film Festival of India in November.
The team behind Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders is unchanged from the first movie, with Honey Trehan returning to direct another script by Smita Singh. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP Movies and Trehan and Abhishek Chaubey of Macguffin Pictures.
