Budget Carrier Launches New Flights to Caribbean Spots That Aren’t Usually Cheap

If a sunny winter escape is calling your name—and your budget is begging you not to ignore it—you might want to pay attention to what Frontier Airlines is doing right now.

As airlines roll out their winter 2026 schedules, Frontier has quietly added six new routes to warm-weather favorites, many of them launching from Atlanta, one of the country’s busiest and most competitive airports. Translation: more nonstop options, more competition and potentially lower fares for travelers looking to trade snow boots for sandals.

The new routes connect Atlanta to a mix of classic beach destinations, including St. Maarten, Nassau in the Bahamas, Providenciales in Turks and Caicos, and two popular spots in Mexico: Puerto Vallarta and San José del Cabo. Most of the service is rolling out throughout December, with travel available well into early spring—prime timing for winter getaways.

What makes this expansion especially appealing is the price point. Frontier is promoting introductory one-way fares starting as low as $79, with routes to Mexico topping out around $119. These fares are available for booking through December 30, for travel between January 5 and April 13, 2026.

Of course, this is Frontier, so there’s a catch—or at least a caveat. These base fares cover the seat itself, and extras like carry-ons, seat selection and checked bags cost more. But if you’re flexible, packing light or planning a short beach escape, those low upfront prices can still make a big difference.

Another plus: Atlanta travelers aren’t the only ones benefiting. Frontier is also adding new service between Atlanta and Milwaukee, expanding its footprint to 61 destinations from ATL. More routes often mean more fare competition across the board, even on airlines you don’t end up booking.

Airlines are clearly betting that winter-weary travelers will be eager to escape—and they’re trying to win those bookings early. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to start planning a warm-weather trip for less, this might be it.

With ultra-low fares, though, the best deals tend to go to travelers who act quickly—and read the fine print before clicking “book.”
