Beloved 'Big Bang Theory' Star Open to Guest Starring on Spinoff (Exclusive)

Could Kaley Cuoco reprise her role as Penny on The Big Bang Theory spinoff? She’s totally open to the idea!

Back in July, Deadline confirmed that HBO Max ordered Stuart Fails To Save The Universe, which will star some of the original TBBT cast members, including Kevin Sussman (Stuart Bloom), Lauren Lapkus (Denise), Brian Posehn (Bert) and Ross Bowie (Barry Kripke). Chuck Lorre, who co-created TBBT is also involved in the new series.

Prior to the Christmas holiday, Parade caught up with Cuoco and asked her if she’d have any interest in joining the cast of Stuart Fails To Save The Universe, perhaps in a guest-starring role.

“If Chuck calls me, I’ll be there,” Cuoco shared.

Parade also asked Cuoco if she is still in touch with her Big Bang Theory co-stars, to which she replied, “Johnny [Galecki] and I are still very close. In fact, just a few months ago our kids all finally met and it was magic! Thinking we have been friends for 20 years now is mind
blowing. I have such amazing funny memories of shooting BBT, memories to last
a lifetime.”

As we all sit and (impatiently) wait for Lorre to call Cuoco for a Penny appearance, she’s got some other career things happening.

For starters, Cuoco has teamed up with Subaru to help kick off the 18th annual Share the Love Event, a nationwide campaign that supports local and national charities.

And, if you’re hoping to catch Cuoco on another television series, you’re in luck.

“I have a limited series coming out in February on MGM/Amazon with Sam Claflin
called Vanished,” she tells Parade exclusively. “I spent most of my summer in France shooting that show and I really loved that experience.”

The new four-part mystery thriller is set to premiere on MGM+ on Feb. 1, 2026.
