Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas has officially opened in Paradise Valley, Arizona, after a $42 million renovation of the former Scottsdale Plaza Resort. The project was undertaken by Trinity Investments and Partners Group. This marks Kimpton’s second property in Arizona and is among the largest in its portfolio.
The resort features 224 redesigned guestrooms and 36 casitas, comprising the initial phase of its 404 total accommodations. Additional villas and residences are expected to be completed later this year. The property includes a signature restaurant, Hecho Libre, led by Chef Wes Avila, Spa Miralina, six pools, and over 50,000 square feet of event space.
Located between the Camelback and Mummy Mountains, the resort offers both seclusion and proximity to local attractions, including Old Town’s cultural scene and Camelback Mountain trailheads.
The resort’s design was led by the international design studio Saguez & Dash. The property features natural materials and artisan craft to reflect the surrounding desert environment. The grounds include indigenous plant life and multiple pools, including the Canyon Pools with shaded cabanas.
The accommodations range from king rooms to one-bedroom casitas, designed with Sonoran-inspired colors and textures. The resort also features living art installations called Desert Reveries, which include sound and cooling installations throughout the grounds.
Spa Miralina offers five treatment rooms, poolside massage pavilions, and a full-service salon. The fitness pavilion includes an outdoor terrace for classes developed in partnership with fitness coach Jordan Hill.
The resort’s culinary offerings center on regional sourcing, with Hecho Libre offering a menu inspired by coastal Baja flavors and Sonoran ingredients. The property also includes a poolside bar and in-room dining options.
The resort’s event space includes the Horizon Pavilion, a glass-enclosed venue with mountain views, as well as additional meeting rooms and event lawns.
is now open to guests, with room rates starting at $359 per night.
