Iman Honors Husband David Bowie on 10th Anniversary of His Death

Iman is honoring her late husband David Bowie.

On Saturday, Jan. 10, the model posted a heartfelt Instagram tribute to her late husband, revealing a tattoo she dedicated to him.

“Jan 10th. The pain didn’t vanish…it left in its place a loving permanent mark. #BowieForever,” the caption reads. The post shows the moment Iman received the tattoo on her arm and is set to Bowie’s song “Subterraneans.”

Bowie passed away on Jan. 10, 2016, following a private 18-month battle with liver cancer. His diagnosis was not revealed to the public until after his death.

Iman and Bowie met after being set up on a blind date in 1990 and got married in 1992. The couple welcomed their daughter, Alexandria Zahra Jones, in 2000.

In an exclusive interview with People, back in 2021, Iman reflected on her grief and navigating life without Bowie.

“I still feel married. Someone a few years ago referred to David as my late husband and I said ‘No, he’s not my late husband. He’s my husband,'” Iman told People.

She added, “I definitely feel his presence, especially when I look out over the glorious sunsets at our home because David loves sunsets.”

Iman also shared a post earlier this week honoring what would have been the musician’s 79th birthday on Thursday, Jan. 8.
