An all-female death metal band known for its fierce sound and serious message is officially heading to Brooklyn.
Castrator announced on Instagram that they will perform at Metal of Armageddon IX on Sept.11, at The Meadows in Brooklyn, New York. The post featured a bold teaser photo and a short caption confirming the date, venue and ticket details, with a direct note that tickets are available through the link in their bio.
The Brooklyn show places Castrator on a growing list of respected extreme metal acts booked for the Rage of Armageddon event series. For the band, the announcement also feels personal.
Castrator is an international death metal band based in New York. While their music is aggressive, their goals are clear. They use old-school death metal to speak about injustice, abuse and human suffering, often flipping the genre’s usual point of view. Their upcoming Brooklyn performance continues a strong stretch of high-profile shows, including their already confirmed appearance at Milwaukee Metal Fest on June 6.
The Metal of Armageddon IX show is scheduled months after Castrator’s Milwaukee Metal Fest appearance was announced. On Instagram, Castrator kept their Brooklyn message short and direct, writing: “Castrator will be performing at Metal of Armageddon IX Friday, September 11 The Meadows – Brooklyn, NY.”

Castrator’s current lineup includes Clarissa Badini on vocals, Carolina Pérez on drums, Robin Mazen on bass and Sara Loerlein on guitar. This lineup helped shape the band’s most recent album, Coronation of the Grotesque, released on Aug. 15, 2025, through Dark Descent Records. The record earned strong praise for its tight songwriting, heavy riffs and fearless themes.
Castrator first formed in 2013, though the idea began years earlier in New York City. From the start, the band stood out by challenging the genre’s usual themes. Instead of repeating common death metal tropes, Castrator’s lyrics often center on empowerment and accountability.
Their discography includes early releases like No Victim and their 2022 full-length debut Defiled in Oblivion. However, Coronation of the Grotesque marked a turning point. The album was recorded with help from well-known figures in the U.S. death metal scene and showed a more focused and confident version of the band.
Throughout late 2025, Castrator toured across the United States in support of the album, sharpening their live performances.
With Metal of Armageddon IX now confirmed, Castrator continues to balance national festival appearances with key local performances.
