‘Running Point’ Season 2 Episode Titles Revealed

Running Point will return to Netflix in 2026, with a Spring 2026 release eyed. In the meantime, we have the episode titles for all 10 season 2 episodes! Below, we’ll try our best to go into detail about what each episode title could mean for the story.

Running Point is a Netflix Original sports comedy series co-created by Mindy Kaling, Elaine Ko, David Stassen, and Ike Barinholtz. The series is co-directed by Michael Weaver, Thembi Banks, James Ponsoldt, and David Stassen. After her brother is forced to go to rehab following a DUI charge, 30-something Isla Gordon is selected as the next president of her family’s business, the Los Angeles Waves basketball team franchise. 

Just like the first season, Running Point season 2 will also consist of ten episodes. 

We don’t have an episode order, so we’ll be discussing what each episode title could mean in alphabetical order.

Chicago-Style

Pizza? Weather? Tactics? It’s tough to determine what “Chicago Style” means, but it could be a reference to the tactics of a new coach if Coach Jay has left to take the job in Boston.

Perhaps a brand new player from Chicago is one of the scenes, ready to cause a stir in the Waves locker room.

ET TU, CAM?

Cam, Isla’s older brother and former president of the Waves, spent most of the first season in rehab, plotting his sister’s downfall behind her back. However, at the end of the first season, Cam unexpectedly returned from rehab. What his return means remains unclear, but we can assume he either expects his position as President of the Waves back, or he will continue his attempts to sabotage Isla and take over after if she is forced to resign.

It’s also possible that Cam’s betrayal and attempt to sabotage Isla could be exposed in this episode. The phrase “Et tu, Cam” references Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar, during the assassination scene, when, in shock, he utters the Latin phrase “Et tu, Brute” (or “You too, Brutus?”) upon seeing his close friend Marcus Brutus among the assassins in court.

Gordons vs McShays

The McShays could be long-time rivals of the Gordons as another family that owns a rival basketball franchise or business. If there is animosity between the two families, and the Gordons are falling on hard times, then the McShays could seek to take advantage of the chaos by snapping up star player Marcus.

This could also be a “West Coast vs East Coast” rivalry, and perhaps the McShays are in charge of the team that’s clearly meant to be the Boston Celtics.

Could there also be romance in the air? Tying into the Romeo and Juliet cliche, where two members of rival families are secretly romantically involved with each other.

MVP: Marcus Very Pissed

As the best player in the Waves’ franchise, it’s important that the Gordons keep him happy. He’s been the longest-serving player on the team, and 

Marcus Winfield is the Waves’ best player, so it’s important to keep him happy. Given the false rumor that Isla would trade Marcus, the upcoming fight for control of the waves between Isla and Cam could have a ripple effect on the team, particularly Marcus.

Not to mention, with Travis Bugg returning from rehab, if he gets his act together, he could be surplanting Marcus as the team’s star player. If a new coach arrives and benches Marcus in favor of Bugg, it may also lead to Marcus’ discontent.

New Coach Who Dis

This title suggests that Coach Jay has taken the Boston job and left the Waves. Isla will now face the tough task of hiring a new coach for the Waves, and it will be important that whoever she hires has good chemistry not only with the players but also with her and her family.

If the wrong coach is hired, then it could be a disaster for the Waves’ season.

Rehearsal Dinner

This title could be for late in the season, especially if it means Isla gets back together with Lev. At the very least, it suggests another character is set to get married at some point this season.

The Poacher

Likely referring to “poaching,” a term used in basketball and other sports for the unethical act of trying to influence and sign players who are already registered with a team. Often, players who are being “poached” are promised higher wages, bonuses, and the chance to play for a bigger team. This can often destabilise a team, especially if one of your best players suddenly puts in half-assed performances out of fear that an injury could threaten their big-money move.

What does this mean for the Waves? Uche Agada was recruited from the D-League and will only be in his sophomore year on the team. It’s already been addressed that Agada is not paid as much as his fellow teammates, so if another team came along and offered him a big-money move, the promise and security of money could be enough to turn his head. 

The Strike

We might be about to see a lockout in Running Point. A lockout occurs when a dispute arises between the league’s owners and the Players Association. When a lockout happens, all league operations are shut down. This means all matches are cancelled, players are unable to train using the team’s facilities, players cannot see trainers or speak to coaches, and all players stop receiving salaries. 

The longest lockout in NBA history occurred during the 1998-1991 season, which lasted six months. As a result, the season was shortened to 50 regular games, and that year’s All-Star game was cancelled. The shortest lockout was in 1996, which only lasted for a few hours.

Triangle of Badness

This could relate to the superstitious notion that any bad events, bad luck, or misfortune come in threes. What could this “triangle” entail? Between Cam’s return, Marcus’s unhappiness, and possibly a new (andunderperforming) coach, could lead to most of the Waves’ issues in season 3.

We Are Broke

The Waves might be in some financial trouble in season 2. But how “broke” is broke? Sounds like they will have a limited time to find new sponsors or investors to secure the franchise’s future. It’s possible that Cam’s previous business decisions are now coming back to haunt the team, resulting in a devastating impact on the team’s finances.

This may force Isla into seeking out new sponsorships, or notably, new investors, which may mean the family will have to give up some of their stake in the franchise or sell outright.
