IHCL Signs Agreement for Seven New Ginger Hotels in North India

IHCL has signed a framework agreement with Rajdarbar Group to develop seven new Ginger hotels in north India, adding more than 1,000 rooms.

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has entered into a framework agreement with Rajdarbar Group to develop seven new Ginger hotels in north India. The agreement will add more than 1,000 rooms across multiple cities, including Jaipur, Agra, Mathura, Vrindavan, Hisar, and Karnal.

The development plan includes both greenfield and brownfield projects. The first hotel under this arrangement, Ginger Gurugram, Sector 1, has already opened in Palam Vihar, Gurugram, Haryana, with 59 rooms. The remaining hotels will be developed under fully fitted lease arrangements.

The targeted locations for the new hotels are a mix of metropolitan areas, state capitals, commercial centers, industrial townships, pilgrimage destinations, and leisure circuits. This expansion focuses on cities in north India, with an emphasis on Tier-2 locations.

The framework agreement is part of IHCL’s strategy to expand its Ginger brand in response to demand in the midscale hospitality segment. The company cited ongoing economic growth and increased travel across manufacturing and service sectors as factors driving this demand.

The agreement with Rajdarbar Group marks a multi-hotel development initiative. The timeline for the opening of the remaining six hotels has not been disclosed. The partnership is structured around fully fitted lease models, with Rajdarbar Group responsible for development at the selected sites.

IHCL has previously expanded the Ginger brand across various regions. The current agreement aims to increase the brand’s presence in northern India, particularly in cities identified for their commercial and tourism potential.
