As the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics begin on Feb. 6, twin cauldrons will ignite in Milan, the global capital of luxury fashion and design, and in Cortina d’Ampezzo, the alpine resort nicknamed “the Pearl of the Dolomites.” Athletes will step into the opening ceremony in newly unveiled collections that expand far beyond winter armour and athletic performance as daring statements of cultural expression, national pride and avant-garde design.
Team Haiti by Stella Jean
At Milan Cortina 2026, Team Haiti will arrive in jungle greens, cobalt blues and vibrant reds. Designed by Stella Jean, the first Black Italian designer branded as Made in Italy, and crafted by former ski champion Pietro Vitalini, the Games’ only hand-painted uniforms draw on the art of Haitian-American painter and sculptor Edouard Duval-Carrié.
Botanical forest scenes marked by a red horse unfold across the garments, while cinched waists, high collars and head wraps reinforce cultural elegance. The designs move beyond fashion, serving as an act of responsibility and a declaration of a nation that refuses to disappear, Ms. Jean said in an Instagram post.
Team Mongolia by Goyol Cashmere
Mongolian sister duo Michel and Amazonka Choigaalaa crafted Team Mongolia’s 2026 Winter Olympics uniforms in rich blue Mongolian cashmere from Goyol Cashmere, accented with silk trimming, embroidered horn motifs, slit skirts and fur-trimmed hats. Drawing on Mongolia’s nickname, the Land of the Eternal Blue Sky, and the 13th to 15th-century Great Mongol Empire, the collection pays homage to Mongolia’s warrior heritage with an elegant and culturally rich approach.
Team Italy by EA7 Emporio Armani
Designed by EA7 Emporio Armani, Team Italy’s opening ceremony uniforms feature a minimalist white palette accented with red, green and blue. Ribbed knit at the high collar echoes the colours of the Italian flag, complemented by a tricolour sleeve patch, Italia crest, and the Italian national anthem printed inside jackets and polo shirts. Debuted at Milan Fashion Week, the collection is among Giorgio Armani’s final designs before his death in September, 2025.
Team Canada by Lululemon
Team Canada will step into the opening ceremony in uniforms designed by Lululemon that blend high-performance with patriotic flair. For its third Olympic outing with Team Canada, Lululemon created bright red puffers and insulated pants, accented by Canada wordmark beanies and maple leaf chest crests. The collection has already sparked debate on Reddit, with some praising its innovation and inclusive design while others are far less impressed.
A second look introduces a metallic grey high-shine hooded puffer with matching snowpants, while an oversized burgundy quilted scarf accompanied by a bold maple leaf completes the collection for a winter-ready statement.
Team USA by Ralph Lauren and Nike ACG
For its 10th consecutive Olympics designing Team USA’s uniforms, Ralph Lauren, in collaboration with Nike ACG, leans into all-American heritage with crisp, alpine-ready elegance. White wool toggle coats sit over knit sweaters marked with the Stars and Stripes and Olympic rings, paired with tailored white trousers and leather belts for a look that blends vintage ski-lodge charm with Team USA pride.
For athletes mounting the podium, Nike ACG brings a fashion-forward edge with a soaring bald-eagle motif across jackets, fleeces and a convertible maxi skirt. The standout piece is an inflatable puffer powered by Nike’s signature Air technology, expanding at the push of a button.
Team Great Britain by Ben Sherman and Adidas
Team Great Britain’s opening ceremony uniforms were designed by world-famous knitter and five-time Olympic medalist Tom Daley alongside designer Ben Sherman and in collaboration with Adidas for Mr. Sherman’s fourth consecutive Games. The collection centres on a bold, graphic interpretation of the British flag in navy, red and cream, woven across zip-front knits with ribbed alpine collars. Hand-knit pom-pom beanies crowned with “Great Britain” complete a charming and modern look.
Beyond the ceremonies, athletes will wear Adidas performance kits as they compete, reach the podium and move through the Olympic village, joining 12 national teams outfitted by the brand this year.
Team Australia by Sportscraft and Karbon
Team Australia’s ceremonial uniforms, designed by brands Sportscraft and Karbon, pair formal tailoring with storytelling. Snow-white blazers feature the names of all Australian Winter Olympians sewn into the lining, accented with gold-toned detailing that builds on the nation’s traditional colours and artwork honouring Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander peoples. A green-and-gold palette pulls the look together with subtle references to past Olympic styles. The collection’s refined detailing and cultural elements carry Australia’s story into the global spotlight.
