Movie Monday: ‘Send Help’ Makes Waves at Box Office, Best TV Shows to Binge Watch

9 February 20262 Mins Read

When Send Help’s characters crashed onto an island paradise, apparently the film did, too.

The Sam Raimi flick has taken first at the box office for the second week in a row. This week, it brought in $10 million, raising the tide of its domestic earnings to $35.8 million. Worldwide, it’s taken $53.7 million.

Debuting in second place is Angel’s Solo Mio. The Kevin James movie opened to $7.2 million domestically. Though the film takes place in Rome, the worldwide earnings have nevertheless not been reported.

Dropping from second to third is the polio-unrelated Iron Lung, a film made by and starring YouTuber Mark “Markiplier” Fischbach. After a strong first week, the movie dipped 66% in earnings. Still, it snatched up another $6 million with American audiences, bringing its domestic cume to $30.8 million. Worldwide, that number floats at $34.3 million.

In fourth place, Stray Kids: The dominATE Experience debuted. The K-Pop group’s concert film captured $5.6 million in the United States and $13.2 million internationally. That brings Stray Kids’ movie earnings to $18.6 million globally.

Rounding out the top five is a man whose net worth far surpasses how much he gained from the box office this weekend—it’s Dracula. The movie opened to $4.5 million in the United States. It did far better overseas, sinking its fangs into $29.2 million and bringing its worldwide cume to $33.7 million.

Looking down the list, after 10 straight weeks in the top five, Zootopia 2 finally fell just outside of that range, placing sixth. It earned an additional $4 million, though that didn’t gain it much altitude in its $1.8 billion global earnings.

As for other new entries, The Strangers: Chapter 3 found itself a stranger among moviegoers. It took in $3.5 million, securing eighth place. Charli XCX’s mockumentary, The Moment, discovered that it was not, in fact, the moment to release the film. It debuted in 13th place with $1.7 million.

But at least Charli can say she outperformed Buffalo Kids. The animated movie opened to a mere $37,000 in the United States. (Though it allegedly did far better overseas: When it originally released in 2024, it earned $9.5 million in international markets through its run.)
