Yvette Estrada Joins AHLA as Senior Director for State and Local Affairs
The American Hotel & Lodging Association has named Yvette Estrada as Senior Director of State and Local Affairs, responsible for government affairs in Los Angeles and the western United States.
The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) has appointed Yvette Estrada as Senior Director of State and Local Affairs, overseeing government affairs strategy in the Western region, including Alaska, California, Hawai’i, Nevada, and Washington state.
Estrada brings more than a decade of legislative experience, having led multi-state and local advocacy engagement for NBCUniversal and previously serving as District Chief of Staff for U.S. Representative Linda Sanchez (D-CA).
Her immediate priorities include addressing the Hotel Worker Minimum Wage Ordinance adopted by the Los Angeles City Council last summer, which AHLA says is impacting hotels in Los Angeles, with concerns about potential closures, job losses, and reductions in tax revenue.
Estrada serves on several boards in Los Angeles, including the L.A. County Economic Development Corporation, the L.A. County Business Federation, BizFed, and FilmLA’s government affairs committee.
