‘Big Mouth’ Creators Reveal Cast & Release Date for New Netflix Series ‘Mating Season’

With Big Mouth ending after 8 seasons in 2025, it’s not all doom and gloom for fans as Netflix, Brutus Pink, and Titmouse will be teaming up once more for a brand new animated series, Mating Season. In a special Valentine’s Day update, Netflix confirmed the series will arrive in May 2026 and revealed the first look at the star-studded voice cast centered on the horny animals of the woods.

Mating Season is an upcoming Netflix Original adult animated comedy series created by the team of Mark Levin, Jennifer Flackett, Andrew Goldberg, and Nick Kroll, with Brutus Pink as a producer. Meanwhile, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina are serving as executive producers for Titmouse.

John Derderian, Vice President, Animation Series, previously expressed his gratitude for the work that went into Big Mouth and the excitement he has for the release of Mating Season:

What is the plot of Mating Season?

Netflix has shared the following logline regarding the plot, describing it as an adult animated romantic comedy:

“From the creators of BIG MOUTH comes MATING SEASON… set in the animal world – about love, sex, relationships, and the universal need to find a partner and perpetuate the species – starring bears, raccoons, deer, foxes and a host of other horny, lovable forest critters.”

Who are the cast members of Mating Season? 

Netflix dropped the “Meet the Species” cast announcement on Valentine’s Day, confirming four major leads for the series.
As expected, co-creator Nick Kroll will be voicing a lead character named Ray.
Joining Kroll are:

• Zach Woods (The Office, Silicon Valley) as Josh
• June Diane Raphael (Grace and Frankie, Big Mouth) as Fawn
• Sabrina Jalees (Search Party, Big Mouth) as Penelope

When is Mating Season coming to Netflix?

Thanks to a special Valentine’s update, we now have a confirmed release date. Mating Season will premiere on Netflix on May 22, 2026.
