Will ‘The Hunting Party’ Season 2 Head to Netflix & Where To Watch Now

If you’ve been browsing the Netflix Top 10 in the United States this week, you’ve likely noticed a high-stakes new thriller making some serious noise. NBC’s The Hunting Party has quickly become the latest licensed hit for the streamer, drawing in fans of procedural dramas and Manifest alike. But with the show currently in the middle of its sophomore run on broadcast TV, the big question remains: will Season 2 eventually make the jump to Netflix?

To bring you up to speed, Netflix picked up the entire first season on February 15th, 2026. Since then, the show has rocketed up the daily top 10s in the US, with it ranking as the second most-watched title for February 17th.

Sadly, and for now at least, the series is only available on Netflix in the United States, with the show streaming on myriad platforms elsewhere around the globe, if it is available at all.

Created by JJ Bailey (who also serves as showrunner), The Hunting Party is a high-concept procedural that centers on a small, elite team of investigators. They are assembled for one specific, high-stakes mission: to track down and capture the world’s most dangerous killers who have escaped from a top-secret “black site” prison that wasn’t even supposed to exist.

The biggest draw for Netflix subscribers will undoubtedly be Melissa Roxburgh, who leads the series as Rebecca “Bex” Locke. Netflix fans will, of course, recognize her as Michaela Stone from Manifest, the supernatural drama that Netflix famously saved and turned into a global phenomenon.

While Season 1 focused on the immediate fallout of the prison break and Bex Locke’s introduction to the team, Season 2—which consists of 13 episodes—dives deeper into the “Black Site” conspiracy. New episodes began airing on NBC from January 8th and will continue through at least April or May.

Without giving away too many spoilers for those just starting Season 1 on Netflix, Season 2 raises the stakes by revealing that the escapees weren’t just random criminals, but pieces of a much larger political puzzle. We also see further development of Bex’s mysterious past and her connection to the prison’s shadowy architects. Reviews for the second season have noted an uptick in action and a faster pace compared to the debut outing.

Will Season 2 of The Hunting Party come to Netflix? It’s up in the air…

Before the 2020s, when Netflix would pick up a show from broadcast, the rights would be that Netflix carried the show for its entire lifetime, plus a number of years. Those deals seem to be mostly long gone except in rare circumstances. With many broadcast shows now, whether they are CBS or NBC titles, we often see the first title licensed to Netflix in hopes of driving new viewership to the show on its network or mainstream streamer.

More often than not, early seasons of a show added to Netflix don’t get updates until they’ve had notable viewership, which hopefully The Hunting Party is now getting. If the second season is eventually licensed to Netflix, we suspect it won’t be until at least early 2027.

Sadly, we don’t have any intel on the status here, but sources tell us Netflix has picked up the season 1 license for a full year, meaning it won’t be going anywhere until February 15th, 2027.

Where to watch The Hunting Party season 2 until if/when it arrives on Netflix

Given that the show first airs on NBC and is owned by Universal Television, it has a natural home where it currently streams in full, including the new season 2 episodes: Peacock. It’s available on all tiers of Peacock and is next-day, meaning if you want to dive into season 2 right now, you can.

Are you hoping Netflix nabs the rights to the season of The Hunting Party, or will you be jumping over to Peacock to watch? Let us know in the comments down below.
