Netflix Shutting Down and Removing Its Hello Kitty Mobile Game

Another popular high-profile title is set to depart the Netflix Games library soon. Hello Kitty and Friends: Happiness Parade has begun showing removal notifications to users, with the last day to play confirmed for mid-March.

While Netflix has been ramping up its gaming library with major titles like Grand Theft Auto and Squid Game: Unleashed, we are also seeing the reality of licensing deals kicking in: games don’t stay forever.

It’s now confirmed on Netflix’s own game page that Hello Kitty and Friends: Happiness Parade will leave the service on March 17th, 2026, with a last-day-to-play notice confirmed for March 16th.

Developed by Dabadu Games and published by Rogue Games, the rhythm-action title first touched down on Netflix Games back in November 2022. It was a colorful, high-energy entry in the catalog that allowed players to lead a parade with Sanrio favorites like Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Pompompurin, tapping along to the beat to avoid traps set by Kuromi. On Android, the game has over 1 million installs.

Why is the game leaving?

As is standard with third-party titles on Netflix (and similar to how movies and TV shows work on the service), games are signed for a fixed period. When that licensing window expires, the game must either be renewed or removed from the platform.

In this case, it appears the partnership between Netflix and Rogue Games for this specific title has run its course. It’s not a new phenomenon; we’ve actually seen a steady stream of games leaving Netflix over the past few years and fewer new releases as its strategy shifts, and by our count, Netflix has removed over 50 titles thus far. 2026 removals have included Tomb Raider: Reloaded and Game Dev Tycoon.

Where else can you play it?

The good news is that the game isn’t entirely disappearing from existence. Hello Kitty and Friends: Happiness Parade is available on the Nintendo Switch, and we could eventually see the mobile version transition to a standard paid or free-to-play release on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store after it decouples from Netflix, though Rogue Games has not yet confirmed a mobile re-release date. Worth noting that should it release seperately, your save will almost certainly not jump over.

Are you sad to see Hello Kitty leave the Netflix Games roster? Let us know in the comments below.
