Escape from the Wrenwood Hotel

27 February 20263 Mins Read

The first part of our Resident Evil Requiem walkthrough starts at the Wrenwood Hotel. To survive this spooky place, you must open locked doors, collect essential items, and find Room 204. Without a couple of hidden keys, Grace won’t leave the Wrenwood Hotel ever again.

However, before you start, it’s important to note that this walkthrough will tell you how to complete Resident Evil Requiem on casual and standard (modern and classic) difficulties.

Here’s how to complete the first part of Resident Evil Requiem: Escape from the Wrenwood Hotel.

[Ed. note: This guide contains spoilers for Resident Evil Requiem, so continue at your own risk! Feel free to follow along or bookmark this page and come back if you get stuck.]

Enter the Wrenwood Hotel (Grace)

After Resident Evil Requiem‘s opening cutscene, when you first take control of Grace, she’ll be on her way to the Wrenwood Hotel. There’s a missing person poster you can look at on the newsstand, but other than that, just follow the road until the next cutscene begins.

Follow the path through the alleyway until you get to the hotel. Inside, there’s a kitchen with a few drawers and cabinets you can open, but you won’t find anything important. After reading the investigation report in your inventory as prompted, you’ll find that the door behind the bar is locked. See the photo taped to the bar? The key to unlock the door is on the backside.

In the lobby, you can find the following files and info:

  • Hotel pamphlet: On the floor.
  • Notice of closure: In the office drawer.
  • The Wrenwood Hotel floor plan: In the office, on the wall.

Head upstairs and grab the wire cutters from the box to your left and use them to access the hallway. Take note of the locked emergency exit door as well, though you can’t open it yet.

At the end of the hallway, in Room 204, investigate the pictures on the bed to trigger a flashback. All you need to do is follow Grace’s mother.

Escape the Wrenwood Hotel (Grace)

Back in the present, leave Room 204 and head downstairs. On your right, find the large picture you saw in the flashback. Move the coat stand aside so you can grab the pouch behind it.

Take a look at Alyssa’s journal and the disc inside the pouch.

When you get attacked by the zombie, be sure to move left or right to evade his first shot before freeing yourself. Luckily, Grace will take his emergency exit key during the struggle, so as soon as you are free, run upstairs and open the emergency exit.

Go after Victor (Leon)

Run through the street and shoot zombies as necessary (you don’t need to kill them all). The easiest way to kill them is to stagger them with a headshot and finish them with a melee weapon. Most zombies drop handgun ammo, so be sure to pick that up.

You can grab a green herb (healing consumable) from an open trunk on the right side of the road.

When the fight is over, we’ll swap back to Grace inside the Chronic Care Center.
