Did you hear, Toronto?

Will Toronto feel like 20°C?

We’ve seen the posts on our feeds, all these bloggers confirming that it’ll feel like 20°C in Toronto very soon. Let’s be real here, that’s not entirely true.

Sorry, but if we’re going to talk about the weather, let’s not play around. The Weather Network says it’s going to feel almost like spring in southern Ontario, but cities like Windsor, London, and even Hamilton will feel warmer than others, like Toronto.

Not to worry, though; we’ll definitely see temperatures hit the teens over the weekend. Toronto is expected to reach 11°C, feeling like 9°C on Saturday and remain relatively positive until Wednesday, before it dips again.

Twenty degrees or not, one thing is for sure: if the temperatures are up, the streets will see us this weekend.

Hilary Duff did military training in Toronto

Last week, Hilary Duff was on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast. She spilled a lot. Like teenage drama with Disney star Lindsay Lohan, Toxic Mom Group drama with Ashley Tisdale and the whole Freak Friday/Cheaper by the Dozen debacle. She didn’t hold back. But besides the drama, she also answered some questions that took us back 20 years, actually.

Duff shared a nostalgic memory of her time in Toronto when filming the iconic Cadet Kelly. We had a “Hey, she said Toronto!” moment when Cooper asked Duff if it was true that she had military training for the role. Duff confirmed that fact and teased that she could probably still do some of the rifle training.

“We were at a dance studio in Toronto, I remember, and Christy Carlson Romano and I would walk from this hotel that they put all the actor kids up in in Toronto and go to this dance studio down the street,” shared Duff. “And it was really intense. We were doing our own stunts.”

The movie was filmed back in 2001, and according to IMDb, it was not only filmed in Toronto but also in other locations across Ontario — a fun little Canada fact.

Daylight saving time

Fall back, spring ahead! It’s that time of the year again: daylight saving time. Clocks are moving forward on March 8 at 2 a.m. So that means you lose an hour of sleep. Bittersweet moment considering I, for one, cherish every bit of my sleep, but also love waking up to sunlight.

Though it’s the start of DST, it is the end of certain activities in the city. That just means we’re inching closer and closer to the first day of spring.

The Bentway is actually closing its skating loop for the season on Sunday, and it’s hosting a party to celebrate.

Everyone is invited to reset their internal clocks with some free, fresh coffee brews and an extra hour of skating. Oh, and pyjamas are encouraged.

So if you needed weekend plans or more of a reason to enjoy some sunshine on Sunday, head downtown.

Countdown to the World Cup kicks off in Toronto

A hundred days from now, the World Cup will kick off in Mexico. Excited or not, the city will be buzzing very soon. That means, as we get closer to these games, organizers in Toronto are getting everything in order and finalizing details.

There’s actually a free World Cup party happening at Rebel today to mark the milestone. If you’re not doing anything tonight, the event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and runs until 9:30 p.m.

It’ll feature cultural programming and live performances celebrating Toronto as a host city and the nations scheduled to play here, including Canada, Croatia, Côte d’Ivoire, Germany, Ghana, Panama, and Senegal.

It sounds like fun and gives you an excuse to go out and celebrate this huge moment.

Gorillaz concert coming to Toronto

I know millennials are popping off right now with this announcement.

They just dropped their ninth studio album, The Mountain, and now Grammy-winning virtual band Gorillaz is going on tour.

Live Nation just announced they’re bringing The Mountain Tour to Toronto on Oct. 4, 2026. It’s actually their second Canadian date, following their Montreal concert on Oct. 3, 2026.

Tickets go on sale March 9, 2026, at 10 a.m. EST.

That’s all for now, Toronto. Don’t worry, we’re sure we’ll have more to share next week.
