Hale Hōkūala Kaua‘i, Curio Collection by Hilton, Slated for Fall 2026 Debut

Hilton has announced plans to open Hale Hōkūala Kaua‘i, Curio Collection by Hilton, a 210-room hotel within the Hōkūala Resort community on Kaua‘i, expected to open in fall 2026, and has appointed Jon Itoga as general manager.

Hilton plans to open Hale Hōkūala Kaua‘i, Curio Collection by Hilton, marking the first Curio Collection by Hilton property in Hawai‘i. The 210-room new-build hotel is expected to open in fall 2026 within the Hōkūala Resort community on Kaua‘i. The property is owned by Silverwest Hotels and will be managed by Hilton.

Located along a scenic corridor near Lihue Airport, the hotel will offer access to island attractions, including Princeville, Po‘ipū, Waimea Canyon, and Wailua Falls. The site is set on a bluff overlooking the ocean and Ha‘upu Mountain and is within walking distance of Kalapaki Beach.

Designed by Hart Howerton in collaboration with Architects Hawai‘i, the hotel will feature a signature restaurant overlooking the tropical lagoon and the Ocean Course at Hōkūala, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. Amenities will include an outdoor pool, fitness center, approximately 2,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, and 10,000 square feet of outdoor event venues.

Jon Itoga has been appointed general manager and will lead strategy and operations planning ahead of the hotel’s opening. Itoga previously served as hotel manager at Waikīkī Beach Marriott Resort & Spa and has held senior finance and operations roles with Aqua-Aston Hospitality, Turtle Bay Resort, and SH Hotels & Resorts. He holds master’s degrees in business administration and financial engineering from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where he is also a lecturer.

Hale Hōkūala Kaua‘i, Curio Collection by Hilton, will participate in Hilton Honors, the company’s guest-loyalty program. Silverwest Hotels began planning the property’s design and construction in 2018.
