Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2, also known as Showdown, is officially here, and has changed the Golden Coast to be a little more chilly.
With every new Fortnite season, there are sweeping changes to the map and loot pool, and Chapter 7 Season 2 is no different. There are four new POIs, different weapons and items, a fresh battle pass, and much more.

What else is new in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2
Typically, from season to season, there aren’t a ton of changes, but in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2, there are a lot of new additions.
Fortnite rivalry, explained
As this season is all about the showdown between the Foundation and Ice King, you’ll need to choose between Team Foundation or Team Ice King right after you log in. You’ll earn points for your team by defeating your rivals in Battle Royale. To start a rivalry, you’ll need to find a rivalry screen, which is scattered around the map, and challenge another player. If you eliminate your rival, you’ll earn rival credits for your team, which can be spent at rivalry gear machines where you can purchase perks, exotic weapons, or even a once-a-day XP bundle. As you win more rivalries, your rivalry rank will go up, and you’ll unlock better loot at rivalry gear machines.
It’s important to note that your rival credits last between matches, so you don’t have to worry about farming up credits every game.
New game mode — Arenas
Arenas is a new ranked and build-only game mode that will be released on Thursday, April 9. In this mode, you’ll be able to challenge others to a 1v1 boxfight or compete in a 16-player round-robin challenge on your own or with a duo.
Players drive the Battle Bus
Every match, one random player takes over as the bus driver. If you’re the driver, your goal is to drive the bus through rings, which will give everyone XP and spawn a Supply Drop at the ring’s location. If you’re a passenger, you can still thank the bus driver and tip them to get some extra XP.
