A brand-new psychological thriller starring Adam Driver is officially in production for Netflix. Directed by Philip Barantini (Adolescence) and written by Peter Craig (The Batman), the series, titled Rabbit, Rabbit, features a massive ensemble cast and is currently filming in the Garden State. Here is the latest on the high-stakes hostage drama.

First announced in late October 2025, Rabbit, Rabbit is an upcoming Netflix Original limited series created, written, and showrun by Peter Craig. The series is produced by MRC (Media Rights Capital) alongside Craig’s Night Owl Stories and Philip Barantini’s It’s All Made Up Productions. The executive producing team includes Craig, Barantini, Samantha Beddoe, Bryan Unkeless, and series lead Adam Driver.

What is the plot of Rabbit, Rabbit?

The series is described as a high-stakes “emotional poker match” and a “social experiment.” A synopsis for the series has been sourced from Netflix:

“When an escaped convict is cornered by law enforcement at a truck stop, he takes hostages in an effort to bargain for his freedom. But the standoff soon escalates into an unmanageable social experiment with his captives, as well as an emotional poker match with a veteran FBI Crisis Negotiator trained in ‘tactical empathy.’”

Who are the cast members of Rabbit, Rabbit?

The cast is headlined by Adam Driver as J-Will, the escaped convict, and Regina Hall as Poppy, the veteran FBI Crisis Negotiator. They are joined by series regulars Will Poulter (Dopesick) and Odessa Young (The Staircase).

Post-Production

Filming for Rabbit, Rabbit officially began in mid-March 2026 in New Jersey. Production is scheduled to continue through late June 2026.

Richard Heus (The Man in the High Castle) is serving as the Line Producer. The series is part of Netflix’s major investment in New Jersey filming, joining other titles like Happy Gilmore 2 and The Beast in Me.

When will Rabbit, Rabbit be released on Netflix?

The series will consist of 60-minute episodes. Given the production schedule wrapping in the summer of 2026, a 2027 release date is the most likely window for the series to debut on Netflix.
