These two Toronto spots just ranked among the top ranked 101 steakhouses in the world, Canada Reviews

Toronto’s steak scene just picked up some new bragging rights. World’s Best Steak Restaurants has unveiled its 2026 ranking of the 101 best steakhouses in the world, and Canada landed four spots overall. with Toronto is the only Canadian city with two restaurants on the list: Jacobs & Co. (81 Bay St.) at No. 51 and Linny’s (176 Ossington Ave.) at No. 63.

One notable local steakhouse, though, didn’t make the global list. Just a few months ago, both Jacobs & Co. and Linny’s also landed on the outlet’s 50 Best Steak Restaurants in North America ranking — Jacobs & Co. at No. 13 and Linny’s at No. 16. Bisteccheria Sammarco (4 Front St. E) claimed the No. 38 spot on that list, but the classic Italian steakhouse from Michelin-starred chef Rob Rossi didn’t make the cut this time around.

Jacobs & Co. made the biggest leap among the Toronto names. After landing at No. 76 on the 2025 world ranking, the Financial District steakhouse climbed to No. 51 this year. In its 2026 profile, World’s Best Steak Restaurants points to Danny McCallum’s leadership, a high-temperature broiler and sourcing that spans Canada, Japan, Australia, Spain and Argentina.

Last spring, the restaurant moved from its longtime Brant St location to the fourth floor of CIBC Square in the heart of Toronto’s financial hub. The new space has huge floor-to-ceiling windows and a menu designed around Jacobs extensive collection of dry-aged meats, with beef aged anywhere from 30 to 150 days and a steak list that includes everything from Ontario rib-eyes, porterhouse and tenderloin to high-end Wagyu.

At No. 63, Linny’s is a new arrival on the global list! This deli-inspired steakhouse comes from chef David Schwartz (of Sunny’s Chinese and Mimi Chinese fame) and the Big Hug Hospitality team.

World’s Best Steak Restaurants says David Schwartz’s Ossington restaurant builds its identity around Canadian beef, wet and dry ageing, and cooking over an over-fired grill. Its current menu includes a mix of classic steakhouse cuts and deli-inspired signatures, like challah service, the 40-oz dry-aged Angus porterhouse from Penokean Hills and shake-and-bake chicken served with hot honey.

When you head over, try the ribeye: it’s slow-roasted, with subtle smoky notes, and served alongside crispy potato rösti and a cool spoonful of sour cream.

Still, Canada’s top placement didn’t belong to Toronto. That honour went to Vancouver’s Elisa, which ranked No. 32 worldwide, although it slipped from No. 26 last year. Even with that drop, Elisa was an impressive No. 11 in the 2025 North America ranking. Executive Chef Andrew Richardson runs a steak program that spans Canadian and US Prime beef, with standout dishes like the 30-ounce bone-in ribeye, the 32-ounce porterhouse, Japanese A5 wagyu striploin and roesti-style hashbrowns all on offer.

The final Canadian restaurant to make the global cut was Fat Rabbit in St. Catharines (34 Geneva St). After ranking No. 19 in North America, it debuted at No. 91 on the world list! The restaurant is just over an hour’s drive from Toronto, with a menu that includes in-house charcuterie, cheeseburgers, a mixed grill and steak cuts.

World’s Best Steak Restaurants says restaurants are evaluated on factors like meat quality, cut selection and service expertise, and that every listed restaurant is visited at least once incognito before the final ranking is set.

If you’re up for a foodie trip, this year’s number one spot went to La Cúpula de El Capricho in Jiménez de Jamuz, Spain. Visit @worldbeststeakrestaurants for the full list.
