Here are Canada’s Wonderland new foods for 2026

7 April 20263 Mins Read

While Toronto’s weather may not have gotten the memo just yet, warmer days are upon us, and with them, the city’s unofficial start to summer: opening day at Canada’s Wonderland.

Slated to open its gates to throngs of eager thrill-seekers on May 3, the Vaughan theme park promises to bring its fans the same hair-raising fun it has for the past more than four decades.

That said, there are also some exciting changes on the radar for Canada’s Wonderland’s 2026 season that fans new and old can get amped about.

While any trip to Wonder Mountain is, largely, about getting your annual dose of adrenaline on the theme park’s rides, the food lands in a very close second place. If you, like me, avoid rollercoasters at all costs, then it’s all about the food, and the park’s eats are seeing some exciting upgrades this year.

Formerly known as Flight Deck (or Top Gun, if your relationship with Canada’s Wonderland goes back that far), one of the park’s most popular rides has been revitalized and upgraded for the upcoming season, renamed The DareDeviler.

To mark the occasion, the park has partnered with Something in the Water Brewing Co. to launch a brand-new DareDeviler IPA. The refreshing, citrusy brew is a perfect complement to the thrilling ride, best enjoyed after you take your flight.

On the topic of new food and drink items, the park has a few in the works that theme park food aficionados should get amped about.

If funnel cakes are your preferred choice of sweet treat, then this year you’ll likely want to seek out the new Choco Crispy Bites Funnel Cake. Decadent to boot, this dessert features crunchy chocolate clusters, layers of marshmallow cream, vanilla soft serve and a drizzle of warm chocolate sauce to seal the deal.

For those more inclined towards savoury bites, the Donair Kebabs at Lazy Bear Lodge might just become a new staple. Inspired by Halifax-style donairs, these smoky, spiced beef skewers come loaded up with utterly addictive sweet, tangy garlic sauce and your choice of side.

To wash it all down, you’ll be able to visit the park’s Coca-Cola Freestyle machines and pour up a cup of Wonder Rush, a new signature drink that blends vanilla Sprite, pineapple Fanta, and Minute Maid lemonade.

The park’s resident confectionery, the Sweet Shoppe, has also undergone some major changes in preparation for the 2026 season. Following a major renovation, the sweets shop is reopening as The Sweet Spot.

On top of the usual suspects of flavoured popcorn and fudge, the shop will now also be serving tanghulu, the internet-breaking Chinese snack of fresh fruits coated in a snappy, glossy sugar layer.

Returning for a second year, the Brew & BBQ Festival will further elevate the park’s food offerings. Taking place during the first three weekends in June, the park will offer special barbecued treats like smoked pork ribs and wood-fired chicken, paired with a selection of over 50 craft beers, seltzers, and ciders from local manufacturers.

If you prefer to stick with the tried-and-true combination of hot dogs and funnel cake, I won’t fault you: there’s no sense in messing with perfection. But, for anyone in the mood to shake things up, the 2026 season at Canada’s Wonderland is already shaping up to be a particularly tasty one.
