As Jamie Ding’s winnings continue to climb, fans are starting to wonder how he stacks up against the biggest winners in Jeopardy! history.
The current champion has had an impressive run so far, racking up 19th consecutive wins with his totals climbing past the $500,000 mark for a total of $539,573, as of April 8, making Ding a household name this season.
But when compared to the biggest winners in Jeopardy! history, he still has a long way to go before cracking the all-time top 10.
That said, the feat may not be as impossible as it seems.
Over the years, a handful of contestants have turned strong runs into record-breaking careers, thanks to both dominant streaks and lucrative tournament appearances.
Per the official Jeopardy! Leaderboard of Legends, Ding has already ranked in the number 10 spot in consecutive games won (as of April 8), and in the 7th spot in highest winnings in regular season play.
After a five-game total of $131,802 in March, Ding already secured his spot in the next Tournament of Champions, per TVInsider. And his latest winnings also put him in a tie with David Madden and Jason Zuffranieri for the 8th-longest win streak since the five-game limit was lifted in 2003.
