The Ascott Limited has signed an agreement for Citadines Westview Nairobi, a 160-key hotel set to open in the Kilimani district of Nairobi in the first quarter of 2028. The new property will be adjacent to Somerset Westview Nairobi, a 162-key serviced apartment property already operated by Ascott, creating a dual-brand offering in the area.
Citadines Westview Nairobi will feature a mix of hotel rooms, studios, and one-bedroom apartments. Planned amenities include food and beverage outlets, meeting and conferencing facilities, a swimming pool, and a gymnasium. The food and beverage options at Citadines Westview Nairobi will complement the Jabu rooftop bar and La Mascotte restaurant at Somerset Westview Nairobi.
The project is a partnership with Britam Holdings PLC and is designed to serve both short- and extended-stay demand from corporate and leisure travelers, as well as meetings and conference requirements. Its location in the Kilimani district provides access to Nairobi’s business and lifestyle destinations.
The signing is part of Ascott’s broader expansion strategy in Africa. Over the past year, Ascott has secured 10 signings across the continent. Once operational, these properties will expand their portfolio from 2 to 23 properties, with over 2,800 units across 10 cities in 8 countries by 2028. In addition to Kenya, Ascott is expanding in Morocco, Nigeria, and Ethiopia, where two properties are planned for Addis Ababa’s Bole district.
Ascott currently operates Somerset Westview Nairobi in Kenya and has additional properties in its development pipeline in the country.
