An exciting new political drama film from South Korea, The Generals (WT), is in development at Netflix. Narco Saints writer and director Yoon Jong Bin is behind the project, with 5 confirmed leads in Son Suk Ku, Ha Jung Woo, Ji Chang Wook, Hyun Bong Sik, and Seo Hyeon Woo. Here’s everything we know about The Generals (WT) on Netflix.

The Generals (WT) is an upcoming South Korean Netflix Original political-drama film written and directed by Yoon Jong Bin, who previously wrote and directed Narco Saints, The Spy Gone North, and Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time. The film has been confirmed to be a joint production between Moonlight Film and Sanai Pictures.

What is the plot of The Generals (WT)?

Netflix has released a synopsis for The Generals (WT):

“The film centers on Roh Tae-woo, a lifelong second-in-command who presents himself as an “ordinary person” while maneuvering behind the scenes beside Chun Doo-hwan, the dictator wielding absolute power and authority. Surrounded by allies, rivals and functionaries with their own agendas, Roh navigates a dense network of relationships in his bid to seize the throne for himself.”

MyDramaList has also written its own synopsis for the film:

“Set against the turbulent backdrop of modern Korean history, the story follows Roh Tae Woo, a lifelong second-in-command who carefully cultivates the image of an “ordinary man” while operating in the shadow of absolute ruler Chun Doo Hwan. As Chun Doo Hwan wields unchecked power, Roh Tae Woo quietly maneuvers through a dangerous web of allies, rivals, and political operatives—each driven by their own ambitions. Caught between loyalty and desire, Roh Tae Woo navigates shifting power dynamics and fragile relationships, all while plotting his ascent to the very top. “

Who are the cast members of The Generals (WT)?

Five lead cast members have been unveiled for The General (WT): Son Suk Ku, Ha Jung Woo, Ji Chang Wook, Hyun Bong Sik, and Seo Hyeon Woo.
