May is here, and we’re welcoming the month with open arms. There are tons of things to do in the city this week that will make you want to head out and get some fresh air.

Want to know what’s going on in the city? Here are 10 of the best things to do this week in Toronto.

Learn how to play both American and Cantonese Mahjong at STACKT Market.

Four tables will be available, with four players per table, and spots are first-come, first-served.

“No spot? No problem, hang out, watch a round, and hop in when a seat opens,” shares organizers. “This is a free event (Mahjong is typically $15/hour), making it the perfect chance to learn, practice, and meet others in the community!”

Attendees also get 25 per cent off matcha drinks in the clubhouse.

Need a midweek pick-me-up? Head to the Drake Lounge for a chef-curated sushi board and $10 sake cocktails. DJ Gil Masuda will be spinning the best, groovy hits from ’70s and ’80s Tokyo. Think funk, jazz, boogie, and soft rock.

Where: The Drake Hotel – 1150 Queen St. W.
Cost: $37 sushi boards, $7 sapporo and $10 sake cocktails

DJ MOMOCITA is making her debut at Queer Pool Night! Expect Latin heat, the hottest beats, and an evening of fun.

There are 12 pool tables, Karaoke, Arcades and a dancefloor!

Cost: $10 online or at the door

Head to Crews & Tangos for one of the biggest Cinco de Mayo celebrations around. Drag Race México Season 2 contestant Horacio Potasio will be in attendance, with the evening hosted by Rico Rico, Dahlia Doll, and Paris Matik.

Though this party isn’t on May 5, Lula Lounge is keeping the celebration going into the week. Expect music, dancing, and all the vibrant energy.

Mariachi will also be in attendance!
