This Chart-Topping Crime Thriller Series is Leaving Netflix After Just One Year

One of the biggest licensed shows over the past year to receive the so-called “Netflix Effect” was Blindspot, which dominated the US charts for close to a month, but if you’re still midway through a binge, your time is running out. The hit NBC mystery crime drama Blindspot is officially scheduled to depart Netflix in the United States on June 7th, 2026, concluding a strict, highly successful one-year licensing window as we’ve grown accustomed to with Warner Bros. Television pickups as of late.

If you haven’t yet unraveled the mystery, Blindspot is a high-octane procedural that originally aired on NBC from 2015 to 2020. The gripping premise kicks off when a mysterious, heavily tattooed woman (played by Jaimie Alexander) is found naked inside a duffel bag in Times Square with absolutely no memory of her past or her identity. The FBI quickly discovers that each tattoo on her body contains a clue to a crime they must solve.

As we recently noted in our roundup of what’s leaving Netflix in June 2026, the series is packing its bags exactly one year after it first arrived. All five seasons (100 episodes) debuted on Netflix US on June 7th, 2025, for the first time, although it had streamed elsewhere. Now, a removal notice is populating on the title, confirming its last day to watch is June 6th, with an official departure date of June 7th, 2026.

Blindspot Was a Massive Ratings Juggernaut on Netflix

What makes this rapid departure sting even more is just how incredibly well the series performed during its short stint on the platform. While it may have missed out on Netflix’s Global Top 10 charts—largely due to being a US-only addition—it was an absolute monster domestically.

The series spent an impressive 29 days in the Netflix US Top 10 TV charts. But it was the independent data from Nielsen that truly showcased the sheer scale of the show’s revival. Blindspot became the poster child for the “Netflix Effect,” finding massive success with both returning fans and brand-new audiences. We also know the series picked up 349.3M viewing hours on Netflix, equating to 23.5M views.

According to Nielsen’s streaming ratings at the time of its release:

  • Week 1: The series exploded out of the gate, debuting at #2 overall with a staggering 1.9 billion viewing minutes. Nielsen noted that viewers in the 50+ demographic contributed to 62% of the viewing time, while the series also heavily over-indexed among Black (20%) and Hispanic (28%) viewers.
  • Week 2: Blindspot remained remarkably consistent, drawing another 1.8 billion minutes and actually climbing to the #1 overall spot across all of streaming. It maintained its strong hold on the 50+ demographic (59% of minutes) and continued to over-index with Hispanic (24%) and Black (18%) streamers.
  • Week 3: The momentum refused to slow down. The show captured another 1.7 billion minutes, sharing the top of the Acquired titles chart with another departing hit, Animal Kingdom.

This strict one-year window is becoming the new normal for high-profile licensed shows, as competing studios look to reap the benefits of a massive Netflix viewership bump before clawing their properties back to their own native streaming services. Where it’ll stream next is not currently known. It doesn’t have a permanent home in the US, from what we can tell, even if HBO Max makes the most sense naturally.

With 100 episodes to get through, you’ll need to clear your schedule and start deciphering those tattoos immediately if you want to finish the series before it disappears in early June.
