Western Canada’s largest Ukrainian festival is being held in Edmonton this spring

19 May 20262 Mins Read

There’s a celebration of Ukrainian culture, food, music, visual arts, crafts, and dance happening in Edmonton this month, and you won’t want to miss it.

UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival is a celebration of everything Ukrainian. This two-day event brings together not only people of Ukrainian heritage but also everyone looking to educate and immerse themselves in it. With endless activities, food options, and workshops, you’ll find yourself itching to get busy at this fest.

What to expect

On Friday, May 29, everything kicks off in Borden Park. Performances start at 5 p.m., so you can rush over after your workday and enjoy everything they have to offer.

First things first: the dance schedule. The main stage will be bustling with energy from open till close. If you’re looking for the schedule to plan your day or to find out when your favourite dancers are taking the stage, it’s available on UFest’s website.

I’d imagine you’d want something to eat while you enjoy the show. No problem whatsoever, as there are food vendors available to satiate your appetite, including your Ukrainian favourites, Shumka Ukrainian Food, YO BABA!, and more.

After you’ve eaten, you can take a walk through one of the pavilions set up around the park. There’s the vendor village, Art in the Village (a must-see destination for all art lovers), and the community pavilion is your one-stop shop to learn more about the Ukrainian community in Edmonton.

Once the main stage performances come to an end, the party will continue under the stars. UFest After Dark means free live music, an endless amount of drinks, and the perfect excuse to dance the night away.

All in all, this festival will brighten up your weekend significantly. If you’re even the slightest bit interested, there’s no harm in going to a free event.

When: Friday, May 29, 2026, and Saturday, May 30, 2026
Time: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday
Where: Borden Park — 7507 Borden Park Rd. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free
