You can paint pottery and cuddle with kittens at this adorable Calgary event

1 June 20263 Mins Read

If your ideal afternoon involves painting pottery and hanging out with kittens, this might just be the event for you. Calgary’s Colour Cafe is hosting a Paint with Kittens pottery night, where you can work on your own piece while rescue cats and kittens hang out around the studio.

A creative night with an adorable twist

The event will take place in Kensington at the Colour Cafe and is hosted in partnership with the Furball Force Animal Rescue, a local organization that focuses on overlooked animals and works with individuals and communities to ensure they’re truly valued and celebrated.

When you arrive, everything will be set up for you. Your ticket includes paint, stencils, glazing, and all the supplies needed to finish your piece. From there, it’s a pretty relaxed setup – you can take your time with your design, chat with friends, or just enjoy the atmosphere while kittens wander around the space. Most people are pretty much just there to cuddle with the kittens!

And the best part? It’s an all-ages event, making it easy to attend with friends, family, or solo.

To secure your spot, tickets are $15 online, and your pottery piece is chosen and paid for on-site; prices vary based on your selection. There’s a huge variety to choose from, too, so whether you want something simple or a bit more detailed, they have something for all skill levels.

Because the event is in partnership with Furball Force, your afternoon out also helps support a good cause, with proceeds going toward helping animals find homes and better futures.

And if you can’t make it to this event, Colour Cafe regularly hosts similar animal-themed pottery events throughout the month, including upcoming ones like a painting session with goats. They’re always adding new experiences, so it’s worth keeping an eye on their website for updates and future events like this.

It’s hard to think of a better way to spend a night than painting pottery while kittens roam around the studio. So if you’re in need of some kitten cuddles this month, this is definitely one you won’t want to miss.

When: Saturday, June 27, 2026
Time: 1:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Where: Colour Cafe – 1414 Kensington Rd. NW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Starting at $15
