Vancouver’s newest patio is inside Stanley Park’s whimsical mini golf experience

6 July 20263 Mins Read

You might have heard that Stanley Park just got a fun new attraction in the form of a whimsical, mini golf wonderland, and it’s operating all summer long. But the extra cherry on top? A new patio filled with tasty drinks and bites officially opens today, and it’ll keep the good times flowing.

A whimsical, 18-hole mini golf course

Situated in the heart of Vancouver’s iconic Stanley Park (690 Pipeline Rd.), the temporary 18-hole mini golf course is perfect for beginners and avid mini golfers alike, with nine beginner-friendly holes and nine more challenging ones awaiting “further down the rabbit hole.” The City of Vancouver announced the opening of this new attraction mid-June, with the fun kicking off on Canada Day.

“We wanted to build something that feels like you’ve stepped through a hidden door in the middle of Stanley Park,” said Chris Charest, principal at Studio Meanwhile, the studio that designed and built the course. “Every hole has its own story and design, and our hope is that people leave with a few good photos and an excuse to come back and play all 18 again.”

With names like “Chronal Abyss” and “Mushroom Patch,” this is a far cry from your ordinary round of mini golf. The course is designed with a playful spirit in mind, with bright colours and warpy, geometric patterns bringing the theme to life.

And if that’s not enough to get the summer vibes going, there will be DJ Pablo Vinyl Nights every evening Thursday through Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m., as well as “Wonderland Weekends” on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

As for the patio experience, guests can expect a refreshing extension of the popular Mexican restaurant La Mezcaleria. That means tasty corn tortilla tacos, street fare, Mexican soft drinks, and fun non-alcoholic beverages.

How much does it cost to play mini golf?

Admission to the mini golf experience is $23 to $25 plus tax, or $16 to $18 per person if you just want to play nine holes.

There’s an 18-hole Family Package (two adults and two children, or one adult and three children) available for $90 plux tax.

Note that children aged three and under enter for free.

As of July 1, the mini golf course is open every day, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and until 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Come for the mini golf, stay for the patio vibes!

When: Open daily
Time: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and until 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday
Where: 690 Pipeline Rd.
Cost: $16 to $18 for nine holes, or $23 to $25 per person for 18 holes
