A giant open-air festival of vintage vehicles is taking over this Toronto street

21 July 20263 Mins Read

If the sound of a rumbling V8 or the sight of a polished classic car is on your weekend to-do list, then consider this your sign to head over to Dream Wheels on Eglinton 2026, happening right here in Toronto.

The annual event is returning to Eglinton Avenue West for its fourth edition, transforming the neighbourhood into a giant open-air celebration of vintage vehicles.

The event also packs the street with live performances, local food vendors, shopping, and interactive attractions throughout the day.

While car fanatics have the opportunity to be part of the hubbub surrounding all the hot rods and race cars, they can also vote for their favourites in the event’s “Best In” show awards. For those new to the festival, standout vehicles compete for top honours during an afternoon awards presentation each year.

This year, the festival will once again feature an antique fire truck on display, a favourite family-photo opportunity back again for 2026.

But this isn’t just a car show.

A day full of the best-of-the-best in vintage vehicles also brings back one of the festival’s signature traditions: the Glamour Pin-Up Contest, where one contestant will earn the title of Miss Dream Wheels.

Live entertainment this upcoming weekend is also a must-see. Taking over the festival’s main stage are Toronto’s very own bands: retro rock’n’roll cover band The Serotones, surf band Fuzz Vultures, “manic rockabilly” group Shook Boys, and cover band Dudes of York are all set to perform throughout the day. You can see the complete agenda for the event on its official website.

So, whether you’re a lifelong gearhead or simply looking for a free way to spend a summer afternoon, Dream Wheels on Eglinton 2026 offers plenty of reasons to stop by midtown Toronto this weekend.

The festival is also an ideal excuse to come out and explore the community, known for its specialty boutiques and a plethora of food options. You won’t be disappointed!

Dream Wheels on Eglinton 2026 is happening on July 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and stretches along Eglinton Avenue West between Avenue Road and Castlewood Road.

Anyone planning to attend the festival or travel through midtown Toronto on that specific day should note that this stretch of Eglinton Avenue West will be closed to vehicular traffic, as the festival transforms it into a pedestrian-only zone. More information on closure timing will be available in the coming days.
