This summer festival in Alberta features wagon rides and a special berry breakfast

27 July 20263 Mins Read

Fairy Berry Festival is back for another year of strawberry madness in Alberta. The u-pick season might be coming to an end, but the fun is just beginning.

Prairie Gardens and Adventure Farm is a u-pick farm open daily during the summer. It’s been open since 1956 and continues to be one of the Edmonton area’s best agricultural hot spots. Here, you’ll be able to find a variety of different seasonal fruits and vegetables that you’ll be able to take home, not to mention some furry friends you’ll be able to visit while you’re at the farm.

The Fairy Berry Festival is the longest-running festival at the farm, celebrating the traditional end of the strawberry u-pick season. According to Prairie Gardens, the last berries of the season are known as “fairy berries” since they are the smallest, as well as the sweetest, a plant will produce. That’s where the festival’s name comes from, and it definitely lives up to it.

From its special berry breakfast to escaping the corn maze, there’s so much to discover and explore at this summer fest.

What to expect at the Fairy Berry Festival

The biggest part of this exciting festival is the special breakfast.

This delight features a special berry breakfast; from pancakes topped with Chantilly cream and strawberries, scrambled fresh farm eggs, sliced smoked sausage, and seasonal crudites, to the farm’s famous baby garlic potatoes, you won’t be able to get enough. Not to mention, your tickets will include the signature summer berry mocktail and a choice of refreshments.

You’ll be able to pick a morning or afternoon ticket, with breakfast service starting at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 10:30 a.m. for morning tickets. Afternoon ticket holders can expect breakfast service to start at 12:30 p.m. and end at 1:30 p.m.

After the meal, you’ll be able to browse some of the fun activities spread throughout the grounds. You can race through the mazes, take part in some lawn games, visit furry friends at the Petting Farm, hop on a wagon, or even get your face painted. The farm closes at 6 p.m., so there’s a whole day of fun awaiting you.

Where to get tickets for Fairy Berry Festival

For this special event, tickets start at $59, which includes the farm-to-table breakfast, free fairy crafts, and a $5 voucher that can be used for experiences like Gem Mining or Mini Succulent Fairy Planters, or sweet treats like ice cream.

There’s also a special discount for children between the ages of three and 12. If dressed in costume as fairies or pirates, the tickets for these kiddos will only cost $39.

Tickets can be bought online on the farm’s website, and no gate sales are available for this fest.

Let’s make the most of the end of the strawberry season — there’s no better way to do it than a whole festival.

When: Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, to Monday, Aug. 3, 2026
Time: 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: 56311 Lily Lake Rd., Bon Accord, Alta.
Cost: $59
